shelbymustangdan Posted March 13, 2007 Report Share Posted March 13, 2007 Yes, as sad as it sounds, I am considering swapping out my 5speed in my 01 GT to an Automatic tranny, so my son can drive it when he get's his liscence. I would rather "sell" him my car, since I'm the original owner, rather than him buy someone else's, simply because it's an automatic. Yes, I have had him out once to teach him how to drive a stick, didn't go too well, but I haven't given up after one try. I would however, like to hear from the forum if any has done this, or has enough knowledg to tell me how much trouble this will be and how many parts may be involved. I have swapped out tranny's in 67s, automatics, 4 speeds, etc. And currently installing a AOD/5.0 converstion in a 67 coupe. (just about done) So I do have some knowledge on the topic, but it's always good to hear from someone who has done the exact job at hand.
