hotrodrock
I had the FRPP CAI and tune installed on my '07 when I bought it. I'm now looking to get a SCT tuner and tunes. Considering a couple of different tuners. My question is, will a new JLT CAI and tune (for example) give a bigger gain over the FRPP CAI with a more aggressive tune than the one that came with it? I hate to spend more bucks on a new CAI if I can get close to the same results with the FRPP I already have.
SteelTownStang
Generally you should expect gains between 60-80 RWHP w/FRPP, C&L, and JLT, however, JLT claims up to 90... I'm bias as I've had JLT CAIs on several vehicles w/great success, but all of the aforementioned will yield similar gains. Go with a pulley and you'll add an additional 30-40 RWHP- JLT and VMP offer nice packages. http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php?p=product&id=312&parent=105 http://jlttruecoldair.com/ZenCart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=283_284&products_id=
Justin00Stang
I tested all the CAIs (KN, FRPP, JLT, CNL) back in 07-08, on a stock blower car they pretty much all make the same power.
DriveHard
I've heard good things about VPM and as far as the SCT tuner you will gain some major horsepower throughout the power band, especially with a custom tune. For what you pay on a custom tune with SCT you can feel it.
