supersnake94
Well with rumors of the 2013 GT500 saying it may have a 600+ HP 5.8L Supercharged V8 under the hood, this magic number brings me back in my memory, to another SVT Mustang that had a 351 cubic monster under the hood. Except this one is about 300HP less Has a cheaper sticker price (but some SVT dealers actually asked the customers for more which the price was about the same as a 2012 GT500) Has no radio Has one less gear (5 instead of 6) But was rarer (250 of them made) and also made Mustang history as well I'm talking about...... socalwrench
I always liked the understated looks of this particular cobra.
richstang
Sweet! I wanted one of those really bad in '95 but you needed a SCCA license to purchase one. Here's mine, although a bit smaller. Rich
BigDan
Actually if I had to choose a late model 5.8L Mustang id prefer the supercharged 495hp 1999 s351 from Saleen.
supersnake94
Actually if I had to choose a late model 5.8L Mustang id prefer the supercharged 495hp 1999 s351 from Saleen. That's a cool car. There were many other mustangs that did have a 5.8 V8 under the hood. Like the Boss 351 and another Mustang with a 5.8 under the hood except it is a V10 and a Mule Car Even found a cool video on this V10 Monster. Car sounds pretty sick with this V10. I wish that I could have made it to production.

TN Red Snake
I had a V-10 in my '02 F-250. I absolutely loved that engine. The smoothest running engine I have ever seen. Made tons of power. I always dreamed of putting one in a mustang. That would have been a true beast.

I don't even consider the V10 after driving a modern day diesel with a tune. Truck V10's also sound like garbage, but hey if that your thing more power to you. supersnake94
^Now that's bad! Honestly never seen that guy before. Very cool find. yeah it is a sick video and cool car with a sick sound. J Mays has been with Ford since 1997. He was also the same guy in the autoblog/ Mustang daily video talking about a "very cool Mustang" coming in 2014! :happy feet: Pretty interesting video too. Also talks about the future of Ford's lineup of cars. Autoblog article/video of J Mays and 2014 Mustang

Yeah they pack a punch, but I also like the V10s too. V10 sounds like garbage. You sould see this video of an F-250 with a Trition V10 and stacks! Way different then the mall crawler with loud mufflers I have hot rodding around my town. I bought compound turbo system Poole off him back in 03 for my old 99 Cummins. 32V-SVT
That V10 sounds so much better than a Dodge V10 to boot!!! Man I wish Ford would put that in the next big SVT project. Maybe for the 20th Anniversary?

Either way, that is a very good find too! 420 HP= NICE!
Shipwright
I posted the following idea on a different website. What is the possibility of Ford offering a high-reving, de-blowered 5.8 and creating a 351 BOSS to replace the 302 BOSS after couple of years? After all, Ford usually limits its Special Edition Mustangs to a couple years, right?
