venom
I was thinking of purchasing a sequential light kit. Did a search and it seems that CDC and Web Electric are the two main companies that provide kits right? But it seems that both kits require you to remove the factory lens assembly and replace the entire bulb harness. Is there a kit that would just splice the existing main connector going to the assembly that wouldn't require the tail light housing to be removed? I don`t know of any that you splice in.
springer
The replacement wiring kits take about 5 minutes per side to install. Very simple. Web Electric has an instruction video at their website.

venom
but you definitley have to take the tail light assembly off the car for install correct?

You talked me into it. So are there any differences between the kits out there including price etc?
6-Speed
There are a few sequential tail light products that sequence the turn signals only without sequencing first brake application or hazards. These products use a phone cord to connect the two wiring harnesses together so the logic can differentiate between a turn signal and brakes applied. Perfect Flash was the first product I saw that operate this way and now WebElectric's Smart-Sequence product also operates this way. Another neat feature is when you apply the brakes, all three tail lamps on each side illuminate instead of just the outer two lamps. They make your tail lights operate similar to those on the 2010 - 2011 S197s. I just installed the Perfect Flash sequentials and am very pleased with them. http://www.theperfectflash.com/Information/System_Description/system_description.htm You can purchase Perfect Flash for less ($159.99) at SVTOA - look under Accessories: https://qnet.e-quantum2k.com/~keystone/Custom/T-5RET/RETAIL/cgi-bin/nph-your-catalog.cgi The WebElectrics are very popular, less $$, offer free shipping and a lifetime warranty. However, I liked the engineering that went into the Perfect Flash. IMO you can't go wrong with either product. http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm These wiring harnesses replace your OEM harnesses. The phone line connects from here .... ... to there. 6-Speed
I might add, the Shaker 1000 woofer assembly comes out by removing three bolts and one (or two) connector. It weighs about 36 pounds if I recall. Makes removing the tail light much easier.
thewheelman
Put mine in almost as soon as I got the car. Easy Peasy! I laid a towel over the bumper cover to prevent scratching it just in case I juggled one of the tail light housings. No splices! The plug-n-play are perfect! SicShelby
The do still have splice-in kits: < Web Electric > and < American Muscle > offer them. I was going to do the splice-in but found the WebElectric harness on the < Custom Mustang Accessories > for a little cheaper ($120), so I just did that. After I plugged them in I'm happy I didn't go with a splice-in kit, and I'm fairly savy with electrical. Very simple install.

Interesting. I heard there were versions that did not sequence (once) upon brake application. I didn't realize it was not allowed in some states but I have never heard of anyone having a problem with an inspection.
venom
Thanks for all the advice. I ordered the Web Electrics directly from supplier. Nice guy and very honest. Can't wait to get them installed!
SicShelby
Thanks for all the advice. I ordered the Web Electrics directly from supplier. Nice guy and very honest. Can't wait to get them installed! Right on! You're going to love them. Just FYI, somewhere in the instructions it said that if you had over "30,000" miles on the car they suggest to replace the lights during the install. I didn't, but I have a few on standby if they burn out. I'm not sure if they burn out more easily or if anyone has even had an issue.
