stevenh Posted March 6, 2011 Report Share Posted March 6, 2011 Don't waste your money. Almost all law enforcemnt uses LIDAR now, not radar which operates on a different principle. Thats why radar detectors wont help you now either. With radar, they used to basically lob the radar out there, read the oncomming speed and went and got you. The radar detector worked on the principle that it picked up the particles of the radar beam before enough of it was present to actually fix your speed and read it back to the operator (which was why there were also a lot of false warnings, it picked up alot of other crap too). With LIDAR they point it at you when they see you and the return is instant, so when your detector goes off they already have your speed. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
