Nope, it's not a axle girdle, just a finned aluminium cover; It comes as a factory installed item on 2011 + 2012 or you can get it from any Ford Racing/FRPP source: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=12489 And the Low Profile 8.8" Axle Girdle in the photo of the cover on the box for comparison.
