msbmustang54
Is there a way to patch/fill/paint little dings in the stripes on our GT500's? Mine is a 2007 (SVT#12) Tungsten Grey with Satin Silver stripes and after 90K miles on it there are quite a few dings in the stripes and I would like to touch them up just a bit. (Especially since you all have convinced me to keep it!) Thanks, MSB MUSTANG 54 / Mark
robertlane
Love this combination. Not sure on this - maybe Ford offers something?

Imatk
Since the stripes are vinyl I don't know how effective touch up paint would be... I guess you could try it, but your stripes look pretty good to me
DiJoseph22
I used touch up paint and it worked out good I used a small art paint brush to fill in the nick
Bill Hamilton
Heck, I love hearing about a Shelby GT-500 with 90K miles on it. Have you thought about just getting them painted on and then clearcoated? Mine's a daily driver too and I just can't go more than a day or so without driving it. Hi Bill, Yes I have really enjoyed putting 40k miles on it. Ford put on the other 50k which is why I was able to get 2007 SVT#12. Since it is such an early 2007 GT500 I want to keep it somewhat stock (i.e. keep the taped on stripes). I even saved the original struts and shocks when I replaced them and also the orig control arms. (I put in the LMG upper and lower control arms along with Koni adj yellow shocks). However I have seen one other GT500 with the stripes replaced with the painted on stripes and they do look great! I also put 50K miles on my 2005 Black Mustang GT before I sold it to get the Used "Ford Tested" GT500. (see attached pic of both side by side before the 2005 black GT was sold to get my wife a Honda Pilot!) dijoseph22- Where did you get the paint to match the color of your stripes? I don't think Ford has touch up paint for the stripes? Thanks, MSB Mustang54 / Mark

Grabber
Thanks DiJoseph22, I have a local body shop I trust so I will have them make some up for me. MSB Mustang 54 / Mark Ford makes the touch up paint. You could order it from the dealership or on line. Very cheap and exact color match. Is the paint code T8 for your stripe color? If so the paint for T* would match exact. Here's a link to order some for $7.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-TOUCH-UP-PAINT-PEN-TUNGSTEN-GRAY-COLOR-CODE-T8-/230593486089 It's $10 bucks at the dealership. Hi Grabber, Are you saying that Ford makes touch up paint for the taped on stripes? The code on my door is T8 (as you stated in your email) so does that code apply to the both the main Tungsten body paint and the stripes?
