New Rotors

Recommended Posts

Got the new rotors installed, along with (finally) the camber adjustment bolts.

The rotors are Power Slot, Cryo Treated slotted rotors. Those rotors along with the ss brake lines, racing brake fluid by Motul and the Hawlk HPS pads, these brakes work great. When I take it to track days, I swap out the HPS pads for the HP+ racing pads. They are such an aggresive pad that the actually gave my stock rotors small hairline fractures on both fronts. I believe this is due to the heat the HP+ pads create. These new Cryo rotors I am told, that won't happen. We will see.

Also finally put those camber bolts by Maxium Morotsports that have been in the garage for months. Went and had it alligned. I was told that when I adjust the bolts for track, I should have the toe adgusted first. Then when track is over, adjust the bolts so the tires and wheels stand back up, take it back in, get it re-alligned and have the toe adjusted again. Every time I take it in is $56. What a pain in the ass!

Oh well, they do work great.

The brakes look good. What did you use to make the berg cobra wheel caps? I'll be getting those wheels soon.

All I did for the caps, or rather stickers, was have my sign guy who makes up all of my business stuff for my trucks make them. I found him a picture of it, and he does what he does to make them. He made me two sets but I am still on the first set. I don't think he even sent me a bill for it. I was one of the lucky few that got the wheels from SA. The KR take-offs. Back when they did the 30% off sale.

Very nice!!! How often do you track the car? Maybe CV plates would've been more to your liking.

I plan on doing five track days this year. Three at Portland International Raceway, and two at Oregon Raceway Park. If you mean caster/camber plates, I looked into them, but for the money at the time, I thought the were just a tad overpriced.

I found a set of camber/caster plates used that were never installed for $200. It cost $60 to have them installed and $40 for the allignment. I marked them for eveyday driving. When I get to the track, just move them in. When finished, just back to marks. Very easy to move if jacked up.

There are camber only plates available for around $250 that work the same way. I have a set of the bolos but after finding these plates, I did not install.

  • 5 months later...

You'll be very happy with this setup, I'm sure. I ran the same stuff before I bought my Brembos and noticed some serious improvements on the track. Nice install man, good luck.

So, how have your power slot rotors held up?
