richstang
Hi everyone, I finally registered here after following along for several months on this site. Just to let you know, I don't own a shelby (at least not a 1:1)...yet. Also, I don't have a registry book... yet. But, I am a hardcore fan! Anyway, I was at the SAAC 33 event and saw this car noted as a R model. I assume it's real but I didn't think to check the R# to note in my photo library. Is there anyone here that can enlighten me. I have more pictures of it if anyone is interested. But, first let's see how this post / picture works out. I'm building up a photo library for all R models cars. I have about 25 of them so far. Thanks, Rich

twobjshelbys
If it was old, rusty and in need of restoration, look at this topic: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php?/topic/62815-anyone-remember/

It definately was not 5R002. This car had the mirrors on the fenders and a Utah plate "R model". Here's a few more pics I took at the SAAC 33 NJ event. richstang
I met a fellow shelby enthusiast today at a swap meet. He mentioned this might be Howard Pardee's #095 car. Becuase of the fender location of the mirrors. Can anyone confirm?

richstang
Did you ever get an answer about this car?? Yes, thanks for asking. I posted those pictures over in the SAAC forums. It was confirmed as 5R095 / Howards Pardee's car. I've been posting more pics there in the 1965 Shelby R-model section trying to ID other photos as well. So far, I've eliminated 4 cars as comp prepped mustangs or standard GT350s, but getting them to help ID the actual cars has been tough. I think it's becuase I'm not a paying member, or becuase they feel I should buy the $200 + $25 Shipping registry book.. I don't own a classic Shelby so I can't justify spending that much cash on thier shelby bible. I just really like these cars. Here's one of the cars I'm currently trying to ID. I beleive this is 5R528 since the door number matches the car number but, I don't want to assume anything. There are lots of tribute out there.
