Shelby65_mustang
I believe the 1st 40th Belongs to Steve Davis, from Barrett-Jackson, it was #CSM07XL0001, when we dropped our car off in February of 2007 to be converted we saw it in person, had been signed by Carroll, "To My Good Friend Steve....Carroll Shelby", Steve Navarro was working at Shelby American then and he jokingly said to us, look he signed it to me, Steve!!, Of Course he then corrected himself and told us the Real Steve that it had been signed to! Also,.... Being from Wisconsin and haven driven our car there and back a couple of times and just LOVIN' our Shelby and Enjoying it the only way we know how, our mileage now reads 46,000+ miles..... I do not know if that makes the most or not, but we sure do Love it!!!

RogerS
Yeah, Lord knows I have enough documentation (e-mails w/Tasca). I also have another "one off", my Shelby seat upgrade for the 40th has front seat "Snake logo delete". Gary (Disney) said it would go into the registry that way and at the time I thought Gary work directly for SAI, but I think it looks too busy with 4 snake logos AND the center console logo anyway and Gary DID give me a choice whether to send the covers back or not AND a free center console cover so I did well, Gary's a great guy. Gary DOES NOT WORK FOR SHELBY and this modification was considered Sub-Contracted and will be listed as an owner selected interior upgrade package installed by Designer Auto Accessories. RogerS
Thanks, I had Tasca do it, they had pretty much everything there at the time (Summer/Fall 2009), SS's 40th's, Terlingua's. The inspector obviously overlooked it and inadvertantly brought with him/installed the 2008 KR badge, makes for kinda a neat story though. Just for clarity, our inspectors carry 2 badges, one for the dash and one for under the hood. For the 40th. there were 3 40th. badges, one for each side and one for the grille. We refer to them as wings. Roger

Roger Yes I know but didn't realize that fact until a later date (assumption on my part) but of course the (registry) standard being what it is is perfectly fine with me. Just for clarity, our inspectors carry 2 badges, one for the dash and one for under the hood. For the 40th. there were 3 40th. badges, one for each side and one for the grille. We refer to them as wings. I was under the impression that the inspector was the one who affixes the "wings" as well. And was told by Dennis that the correct 40th anniversary "date wing" would have to come from SA. Is this not so?

GT500-2007
I missed this thread but I'll update gt67's post on recent sales as I own CSM 0223. Mileage when I acquired the car in April 2011 was 1319 and I have to confess that I have not rolled to many more miles on her. Not that I don't want to drive her it's just I worry about damage. With Carroll's passing and no more 40th builds I consider the car irreplaceable and I hope to preserve her as best I can. I do take her out on occasion to let her stretch her legs but not as often as my other cars. GT
gt67
It's good to see some of the old gang back again. George, hope you are taking good care of that party car and things are good in South Florida. Didn't see you this year at Silver Springs. Did you see we lost one of the party cars last year?I just got back from cruisin the Smokies, driving the Boss with 8 other Shelby owners; what a great time we had. Every year I meet up with Scott (stngfever) from Mi and this year we had some company. Four from FL, two from MI, and two from NC. Here is a video of Scott from my car and the others are close behind doing the Tail of the Dragon in the Smokies. Tony, always good to see an old Team 40th member. Hope things are good with you too. Last year at Carlisle, Team 40th had an awesome display of 40th's. These cars are truly amazing. Yes, I agree with George, the 40th is irreplaceable We know Steve Davis has the first 40th "XL0001"; has it leaked out yet who has the last one produced?
