Who Has What?

Recommended Posts

I believe the 1st 40th Belongs to Steve Davis, from Barrett-Jackson, it was #CSM07XL0001, when we dropped our car off in February of 2007 to be converted we saw it in person,

had been signed by Carroll, "To My Good Friend Steve....Carroll Shelby",

Steve Navarro was working at Shelby American then and he jokingly said to us, look he signed it to me,

Steve!!, Of Course he then corrected himself and told us the Real Steve that it had been signed to!

Also,.... Being from Wisconsin and haven driven our car there and back a couple of times and just LOVIN' our Shelby and Enjoying it the

only way we know how, our mileage now reads 46,000+ miles..... I do not know if that makes the most or not, but we sure do Love it!!!

Thanks, Shelby 65 for sharing this info on Steve Davis' 40th, I will add his name and add a new category for Most sets of tires gone thru. (How many would that be??) As of now you have the most miles driven, so until I hear different, you're on the list. There was a red 40th at Shelby Fest last year, was that your car?

and we are putting on our 4th set of tires! :burnout:

Hi Jeff, how are things in Branson? I was hoping to flush you out. I guess nobody put your signature together. You have the only Black 40th with two limited editions. :salute: I'm sure glad your car is black because there just might be a white one around. :redcard: I was not aware you were one of the 15. Congrats! happy%20feet.gif

Yeah, Lord knows I have enough documentation (e-mails w/Tasca).

I also have another "one off", my Shelby seat upgrade for the 40th has front seat "Snake logo delete". Gary (Disney) said it would go into the registry that way and at the time I thought Gary work directly for SAI, but I think it looks too busy with 4 snake logos AND the center console logo anyway and Gary DID give me a choice whether to send the covers back or not AND a free center console cover so I did well, Gary's a great guy.

Gary DOES NOT WORK FOR SHELBY and this modification was considered Sub-Contracted and will be listed as an owner selected interior upgrade package installed by Designer Auto Accessories.

Thanks, I had Tasca do it, they had pretty much everything there at the time (Summer/Fall 2009), SS's 40th's, Terlingua's. The inspector obviously overlooked it and inadvertantly brought with him/installed the 2008 KR badge, makes for kinda a neat story though.

Just for clarity, our inspectors carry 2 badges, one for the dash and one for under the hood. For the 40th. there were 3 40th. badges, one for each side and one for the grille. We refer to them as wings.

Yes I know but didn't realize that fact until a later date (assumption on my part) but of course the (registry) standard being what it is is perfectly fine with me.

I was under the impression that the inspector was the one who affixes the "wings" as well. And was told by Dennis that the correct 40th anniversary "date wing" would have to come from SA. Is this not so?

I have been stripped of the highest CSM # but I can claim I have the last 40th built with Bud at the helm :-)

I remember that, having the last car built by Bud is something to be proud of. I really miss Bud and the original staff, we as 40th owners are very fortunate to have been a part of the historic beginning of the rise from the ashes of the GT500.

Yeah, I talked to MM a couple weeks ago, he wanted to know how I was enjoying the 350. He has had a lot of things going on lately, so thats why he hasnt been very active, but I did see a post from him not too long ago.

Did his dad ever get the GT350 mess straigtend out?

OK Frank, here is the updated list. First, congrats to Rick for the fine job Alex did on adding some great mods including the quad exhaust to his car. I first met Rick, #18, at the 427 race at Donnie Beason's tailgate party. Then later, seeing a drunk lady fall head first into his vert is one sight I will never forget. :hysterical2:

Next, to Adam and Bob for the great job they did at Summit Point. Slabo's comment was " Gary Patterson came up to us on the second day of tracking and was asking who was driving the red 40th. We all pointed at Adam. Then Gary said that it was some impressive driving. When Gary calls your driving impressive I think you have got some skills. Way to go Adam! ".

Then there was Bob, who had his 40th transported from Washington to Carlisle. Now that is dedication.... It was great seeing you and Pam and that awesome car of yours. I never did find out what the full story was on that front splitter?

I missed this thread but I'll update gt67's post on recent sales as I own CSM 0223. Mileage when I acquired the car in April 2011 was 1319 and I have to confess that I have not rolled to many more miles on her. Not that I don't want to drive her it's just I worry about damage. With Carroll's passing and no more 40th builds I consider the car irreplaceable and I hope to preserve her as best I can. I do take her out on occasion to let her stretch her legs but not as often as my other cars.

It's good to see some of the old gang back again. George, hope you are taking good care of that party car and things are good in South Florida. Didn't see you this year at Silver Springs. Did you see we lost one of the party cars last year?I just got back from cruisin the Smokies, driving the Boss with 8 other Shelby owners; what a great time we had. Every year I meet up with Scott (stngfever) from Mi and this year we had some company. Four from FL, two from MI, and two from NC.

Here is a video of Scott from my car and the others are close behind doing the Tail of the Dragon in the Smokies.

Tony, always good to see an old Team 40th member. Hope things are good with you too. Last year at Carlisle, Team 40th had an awesome display of 40th's. These cars are truly amazing. Yes, I agree with George, the 40th is irreplaceable

We know Steve Davis has the first 40th "XL0001"; has it leaked out yet who has the last one produced?

Glad to hear you enjoyed the video with the hippie tunes. What a great group of people to get together with " very little wiping the cars down I might add :hysterical: " and have some fun. No to Carlisle, the 40th is not going out this year. Looking forward to cruisin the Smokies again while we're at the 50th next year.

Any word on who got the last 40th?

Carlisle was great but my son and I didn't go until Saturday 'cause Friday was a wash (literally).

Haven't heard as to who the "known-unknowns" are yet. This is kinda like guessing who the soldier is in the tomb of the unknown soldier, we're not supposed to know apparently.

BTW, where/when is "the 50th"?

Wow, No one has posted on here since June??? What's going on here??? I'd like to throw out another trivia question about the 40th program. If you recall, the 40th program was a "post-title" program. So my question is: How many "pre-title" 40th Anniversary cars are out there? I don't the answer but do know of one "pre-title" 40th.

Take Care All!!
