I miss you all!! I have been taking care of my nieces for the past day and it has been a challenge. I know nothing about little kids!! Maddy is 7 and turning 8 today (June 30th) and Charlotte (Charly) is 5 turning 6 in 5 days. My sister is getting remarried on Sunday ( that is why I am not with ya'll (like that Sean, Lauren, David, and Reine would say!!) and I was given the kids till then to take care of.. The 5 year old tells me constantly that she doesn't like me, but then Maddy always does and gives me the hug Charly doesn't. She also loves Shelby's. My sister reminded me to separate them when they sleep as they fight, so I did, one in the guest room, the other in another other guest room that only has a couch . Well that lasted less than 20 minutes!!! I thought I could do my emails and forum stuff when Maddy came on in my room " Unc (that's what they call me) "I can't sleep, can I watch TV with you?" Even though the TV is on, I am still working, but I figured she'd go to sleep soon. So I said sure. She crawls in my bed and then wants to talk cars!! This afternoon she told a customer with a white Shelby GT, that his stripes "sucked", they did, but it was funny to hear it from her. He asked me if I put her up to that, and she told him no, get them warrantied!! I explained to her what warranties were and that Ford doesn't cover them after 3 years...she then said, well "Shelby will" then I tried to tell her that these stripes had issues to begin with...she kept going...remember...she is 7....my customer called me later and thought it was hilarious. I find it funny how much she has absorbed from being around me...hopefully good stuff! Another funny thing was that I have a black with silver stripe 40th vert in my shop and she asked why a Shelby GT black with silver stripes was a convertible? Funny how she remembers things!! They are both sleeping now, but wore me out!! Although clarly says she doesn't like me, she takes up half my bed and won't move. It is 4am which I am used to, but I hope they don't wake up early!! "Justin Beiber, Never Say Never" is still on the TV.

Maddy watched the video Tom D (CaliKR ) posted and pointed out that the red Shelby sounded much better and that the "movie" was longer. From the "mouth of babes" I gave her a lesson about different Shelby's that have different parts..Sorry Tom. It is pretty hard to argue with an opinionated 7 (now 8) year old!! I also told her that the Netherlands is where Oma (my dad's, ex-wife's, mother) is from, and she asked if they had Shelby's there, so I showed her all the pics. She asked why I wasn't there with you all. I told her because "Mommy is getting married" and she said back "not too long...they don't like each other too much" Again, from the Mouth of Babes...way to weird....you all have fun...and I really do miss you all...Helaina....don't get Croc's Alex too drunk!! Maddy still claims Cali as her own.

Please be safe all and have a blast!!

Alex

Rob & Alex,

It was wet only about 2/3 of that day, in fact it dried up at the right time where we could stretch our legs on the unlimited sections of the Autobahn....nice to be able to run her past 150mph and not worry about going to jail.

One thing to go fast in a straight line, and I easily touched 160 before we came up on some traffic, but some of the more thrilling speeds were like this nice sweeping (and long) right hand turn that we carried 140 thru....we had two KR's in our group and we were escorted by a Jurgen who has a black SS that he has registered in the Czech Republic....good stuff

Boys & Girls, today was the BEST...as bad ass as the Nurburgring was/is, today we drove Le Mans...although it was only 3 "parade" laps, we broke 150 on the Mulsanne Straight, which now has two chicanes....there are some sweet videos that were shot. Dan (MY500SS) had a GoPro mounted to his grill, and I saw that clip....in a word WOW...I shot a clip from inside the car. And there are others too, and I'm sure they'll all go uploaded once we all get home.

Clearly the definition of 'parade' is different here than stateside, as it is go a fast as you want. While that is all well and good, there were two bad wrecks in these parade laps, one with a Pantera and a new gen 5.0L Mustang, and then another between a TVR Tuscan and a Aston Martin DB4, that poor car owner was likely looking at a $250,000 repair on that AM as the entire back end was pushed into the back seat...and being an alloy car....I'd be in therapy or in jail if that was my car...its one thing if your actually running a vintage track event, but to be taken out in parade laps...terrible.

Did you manage to keep the 4 round black things on the flat black thing (Dusty) ? Sounds kinda like driving back from the Vegas Bash was going on over there ! :D

As a matter of fact, I did go off at the 'ring....straight across the chicane...some, like Alex Zanardi (at Laguna Seca) call that a short cut... :hysterical:

Full redemption at Le Mans though...that track long and plenty wide for great passing...Our Shelby's represented very, very well against Europe's finest. Carroll would've (is) proud!

Tori and I said our good-byes to the group this morning after breakfast as they all headed north back to Almere Netherlands for their final night of the tour.

We peeled off and came to Brugge Belgium as I have two business meetings in Belgium tomorrow. After those are done, we will head back to Germany and stop in Dusseldorf for the evening before heading further north to Landkreis Vechta to visit my 97 y.o Oma as well as many aunts, uncles & cousins...

We will take the KR back to Amsterdam on next Thursday, and fly back to SFO on Saturday.

We are just a tick under 2500 miles for the trip, and will be just over 3000 when we are done.

An amazing adventure with loads of laughs of good times.

Great to see those I know, and made a bunch of new (and hopefully lifelong friends) along the way...

Thanx to Patrick, Astrid, Sean and Lauren for all of their efforts with this trip..something my daughter and I will NEVER forget!

Happy Motoring,

Tom
