mach 1 1970
I couldn't buy my GT500 better time, just two months before Lehman Brothers collapsed. Got it for $50k off the showroom, now KR's are selling for $54k... Bummer The 2011's are hurting all used shelby prices including the KR's , just like the Corvette Z06. The only reason i did not get hosed cause i bought mine used @53K . I loss a little but not anywhere near what a original owner would have. They are flooding the soft market with more and better cars. I for one was lead to believe that the GT500 would be a limited production car for 3 years. I don't want to beat a dead horse , so that's it. I need to move to the Corvette forum cause i bought a 1966 Corvette 427 / 425 HP ( 3200 lbs ) coupe body off restoration all matching #'s with documentation. The market for the real deal big block vettes has really tanked , so i jumped in. Not as fast as the KR but almost and you should hear the sound of the 427 solid lifter engine with side pipes. Just amazing and still good for high 12 's. See you on route 66 !!!

mach 1 1970
Where's the pic's of the Vette. Well i would not post a vette on this site, but you asked . When you think about it the vette had alot to do with the Shelby being created . Shelby needed someone to beat .Back in the day the 66 427 was first rated @ 450hp@ 6400 rpm. GM brass didn't like this so the engineers changed the rating to 5400rpm which was 425hp . They even had to bring some cars back in to change the decal on the air cleaner. The only car faster was the 427 Cobra . 12.2 to 12.4 it was close.
