Aluminum Screws for Hood Pin Plates?

Recommended Posts

My car's out having the scoop, stripes, mufflers, hood pins, etc... done. When I get it back, I want to swap out the hood pin plates for the billet ones, but I'm not looking forward to putting stainless screws back into my "iron-decontaminated" and repainted hood. Can anyone lead me to the source and part number for the right size aluminum screws? I've tried searching the forum, no luck. I know it'll be -most likely- available from a marine parts house, etc... but I figured someone here might have the insider info already.... or maybe bought a box of 100 and used 8, stuck with leftovers I can buy...biggrin.gif

I have never seen screws made from aluminum so good luck finding any. You could use aluminum pop rivets or they also make aluminum rivets but you need a rivet set to use them and another guy to help you.

They exist, they are in use in many marine applications.... Just type "aluminum screw" into a Google search.

I just figured someone already had the specs, a good supplier, and/or extras.
