SNKBITE
A TS member had once posted a CSX website to look up build history on the 427 Cobra. I am researching CSX 4322 and looking for anybody that has any knowledge of this car. Is it truly "1 of 2" built, or are there more out there. I am under the impression one was given to CS at his 85th, and the other was auctioned off. Please set me straight. Best!!!!!

SNKBITE
this one? http://www.shelbycsxinfo.com/ Yeah, this was it. However, neither site shows anything for this car. I thought there would be a "central depository" for all Shelbys. How do you know if someone is making up the claim "1 of 2" built? Would I be able to call Shelby American, and would they even say if this claim is true? Thanks Paul.
GT500-07
You could call Tony or Gary at SA and maybe they could help. Or try Bill Malone on the Cobra Owners Forum http://www.shelbyautos.com/forum2/ CSX 4322, starting at $165K, second time on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-Shelby-Cobra-Phantom-Roadster-2-CSX4322-Alum-/330457658657?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item4cf0cfb521

SNKBITE
I don't remember reading or hearing that one was giving to Mr. Shelby at the 85th Bash. If I am reading it correctly from the Ebay post, it looks like one was presented at his 80th, my mistake. Still, am I to presume 1 of 2 is a good find? Is $165,000 out of line? I would have a hard time justifying any other aluminum cobras at that price, especially when you can buy a lot of any other car in that price range. twobjshelbys
A couple of topics on Club Cobra: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40557&highlight=phantom+cobra http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40483&highlight=phantom+cobra These topics date to April, 2003. The Phantom is mentioned here (see item #3) http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49699&highlight=phantom+cobra You could also try asking the folks at SAAC for the history of these. Everything I see is very vague. Lots of stuff on google too. Just search for CSX4322. Looks like he's owned it for a while.
