Need Northern Virginia Body Shop Recommendation

I managed to back into a short but very sturdy pole beside the gas pump at a Shell station this afternoon. No injuries to me or the pole, but the Shelby has a nice white stripe and a dent along the driver's side rear quarter panel. (Not unlike a "Darlington Stripe", if Darlington was run clockwise.)

Anyway, I'm looking for a good body shop in Northern Virginia to fix the damage and would appreciate any recommendations. Tell me the good shops to go to, or the bad shops to stay away from.

Thanks in advance...

Just a note to close out the thread...

Thanks to "chigl", I learned about D & V Autobody of Dulles, VA. www.dandvautobody.com They are one of the sponsors of the Northern Virginia Mustang Club.

I drove out to take a look at the place and was impressed. I noticed they have a tall iron fence surrounding their property, that's nice since my SGT will be with them for a week. Entering the building, they have a large, clean, reception area and I was greeted by Kevin Maharaj, one of the managers. We walked out to the SGT to survey the damage, and talking with Kevin sealed the deal.

First, I didn't have to explain to him what a SGT was, and why it was important to me to get it back into "as-new" condition. Through their affiliation with the NVMC, they know about Shelby's, and the significance of the vehicle as an automotive icon. Second, he explained in great detail how they were going to repair the car and why they were going to use those particular techniques. Lastly, since the damage I'd done required the replacement of the rear fascia stripes, as well as the rearmost side stripe, he informed me that they have a graphics specialist come in to do that work, and he'd done Shelby's before!

It was at this point, I knew I'd found the right place and we made an appointment for me to drop the SGT off in their capable hands. The work took about a week and they kept me informed of the progress. Finally, the day came to pick up the SGT and see if I'd made the right decision.

The car looked great! I looked from every angle and couldn't detect that the car had ever been damaged. I ran my hand carefully over the area and couldn't feel any evidence of damage repair. It's as if nothing had ever happened. The stripes looked just as good as they did when I brought it in. In fact, they had completely detailed the car top-to-bottom; bumper-to-bumper, even spot-painting rock chips I had in the front!

Needless to say, I'm very pleased with their work and highly recommend them. D & V Autobody also installs body kits, window tint, custom clear bras, as well as detailing. Give them a call at (703) 661-8545. If you're in the NVA/DC/MD area, check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Lessons Learned: First, be careful when you back up. Second, if you damage just about any body panel on our Shelby's, it will require the removal and replacement of the famous Shelby Stripes. You, not your insurance company, or your body shop, must go through the procedure to purchase replacement stripes. My insurance company is USAA, and they wanted to put on some "generic" stripes. I told them "no", and purchased the correct Shelby stripes and they paid from them.
