supersnake94
So yesterday was Dealer Preview night at the Javits center and I went with my dad who was got VIP tickets from a guy who he works with (who is the best BTW :happy feet: ) I have taken a lot of pics at the Ford Vendor, most of them of the 2011 GT500 SVT PP. They had a 5.0 there, but it was one of those ones which was tilted on it's side. But I stil got pics of it and many more too. So without any further or do, here are the pics from the 2011 Ford Vender along with my VIP pass
supersnake94
Pics of the guages, rear headrest, glass roof and gear stick BTW, this car is different than the one in detroit because it doesn't have the heated seats

Son of GT
Good job Daniel! Great pictures of a great car! Gotta love that SVT package; it's the BEST way to option a car that has 550 H.P.! It's funny, I was initally put off by the narrow stripes, but they have since grown on me, and I like them now.

Thanks Enis! I totally agree about the package for a 550 HP car. I still have more to post. My battery to my laptop just died and I had to plug it in. Now for pics of the 5.4 Aluminum block! :happy feet:

supersnake94
Now for a story about the auto show which I thought that what the center did was inconsiderate. They had an Aston Martin Rapide there on a floor for a party that all the rich people attended. Almost everyone at that party was dressed to the nines and everything. What the center did was make all the escalators that go to the top floor, go to the top floor only. They down escalators all went in the upwards direction (if you know what I mean) they did the same thing with the down escalators except they too all went down if you were in the basement with Subaru, Jeep, and all the trucks. They had one up escalator, and that was for the rich only, we had to find other stairs to get where we needed to get. Then when we got to where the Aston Martin Rapide was, they wanted wrist bands and VIP passes were no good. So we pulled off the same trick that the Salahis pulled of with the White House party because that too, had bad security. So we hid our passes and I snapped a few pics of the Rapide and other vehicles there too. Some pics of the Rapide

supersnake94
Great pics Dan. I'm thinking about going tomorrow but have a feeling it's going to be packed. Evan, the Ford vendor was empty when I was at dealer preview night. That pic of me sitting in the GT500 might be the only time they had the doors unlocked. They may be shut when you go. It was really nice sitting in that car. The shifter's throws were very short. One of the ladys at the vendor was also impressed about when I was talling my dad all about the 500. I must be a true Shelby fanatic and car enthusiast after all Mercedes at dealer night was also packed because they probably sent invites to all the Mercedes owners who attended. It was hard to get pics of the SLS AMG with all the people around and YES! I sat in that car after waiting on a long line. The ceiling of that car nearly hit my head when I lowered the gullwing door. One guy who says he's six foot nearly banged his head when he got in the passenger seat. But for seat time (time I sat in all the cars at the show) I sat the most time in that 500. :happy feet:

GOTVENOMGT500
Great shots, thanks for posting. It's too bad about the heated seats but being as I'm always hot I'd rather have A/C seats . Those rear head rests are pretty huge, kind of a since nonone with legs can even sit back there.

chuckstang
wow that 2011 gt500 do want Did it sit any lower than a standard 2010 GT500 though? How did it look with 19s up front and 20s in back? I really wish they had a black one there I just cant decided if I am going to go order one or not, still holding judgement, I need to see it in person, I was suppose to go today but my train was cancelled and something came up

Those rear head rests are pretty huge, kind of a since nonone with legs can even sit back there. Funny story about that. I decided to also sit in the back seat too. It was comfortable with the headrest there, but my dad said that it would be uncomfortable to sit back there for a long period of time. I'm not sure if I can prove him wrong, because I also think of the GT500 as a Gran Tourer too. (Just thinking about after seeing pics of the Shelby Bash's bull run, poker run, etc.) I thought the seats were actually quite comfortable. I liked it a whole lot. I do agree that the engine is quiet at idle and until you get it revved up. Hopefully they will come out with aftermarket exhausts on it to bring out the true noise of the 5.

I really wish they had a black one there I just cant decided if I am going to go order one or not, still holding judgement, I need to see it in person, I was suppose to go today but my train was cancelled and something came up It had sort of that retro muscle car look with the back higher than the front a bit. maybe it's slightly lower than the 2010 with the new suspension for the SVT PP. I sure did wish that they would have the black one there too, or the Red one. Sorry that your train got cancelled we went by train too but luckily nothing bad happened. Maybe a local Ford dealer may have one once production gets under way
