Hood Question

Those of you with the Terlingua "deep draw hood"..Whis hood hinges are you using? I currently am using the OE factory hood hingea nd prop bar. I am considering using the SPP billet hydrolic hinges. Any thoughts..problems or good things to say? I am worried about the possibility of the hood warping due to it being much lighter than the OE SGT hood.

Good question.

 

The Terlingua from my recollection uses the OEM hood attachment and rod. Car is in garage and covered, but pretty sure that is the case. I have not had any problems with it at all.

I am pretty sure the stock hood is much lighter as it is aluminium. Fiberglass is rather heavy. My guess is the deep draw hood is probably 15-20 lbs heavier.

 

I think hood struts would work fine on them, but you might want to shoot Roger or Bud an email to make sure there have been no problems. I am thinking that Rick may have them on his car, but can't remember for sure.

I do not have the hood struts on my Terlingua. I have them on the GT500.

I don't think hood struts will work. It is a fairly heavy hood.

I e-mailed Bud and he said that there most likely would be problems using SPP hood lift part and quite possibly other after market parts. Guess I am stuck with the hood prop...Thanks for the replys.
