GT500 JONY Posted February 18, 2010 Report Share Posted February 18, 2010 HI, DONT KNOW IF THIS HAS BEEN A TOPIC ALREADY BUT I GOT A BIG BANG NOISE SPEED SHIFTING FROM FIRST INTO SECOND UNDER HEAVY LOAD BURN OUT FROM FIRST TO SECOND SHIFTING INTO SECOND A BIG POP OR BANG NOISE NOTHING SEEMS TO DAMAGED IN TRANS OR ANYTHING STRANGE AFTER THE NOISE, ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF THE IS THE CAR IS SQUATTING AND IS HITTING SOMETHING ON THE BODY? FROM THE BUMP STOPS ON TOP OF THE AXLE I ONLY HAVE ABOUT A INCH TRAVEL FROM BUMP STOP TO FRAME 2007 SHELBY GT500 BMR PANHARD ROD AND BRACE BMR ALUMINUM TRAILING ARMS BMR UPPER DIFF BRACE H&R ADJUSTABLE SUSPENSION Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mine did it one time. I'm pretty sure mine was caused by the panhard rod aft body mount hole being to big in diameter. I know that I have not heard it since I had a steel washer welded to the mount, some people seem to only have the noise happen one time without doing anything and all is good. Here is a pix of the welded washer, keep in mind there are many other things that could cause this but this could be it. If I recall correctly, the BMR panhard rod uses a different bushing sleeve than the factory rod and isn't held in compression as well, this added washer helps keep things centered.
