LuckySnake
Although, I have a 07 that was one of the last 07s made that year, do you all think the teflon lube was applied to the splines later on in the 07 line ?. My car was built at the tail end of the 07 line...Documents state June 07 was the builfd date. From what I can gather, its more than teflon lube. Seems as though clutch plate and disc, as well as the flywheel is replaced during the TSB. I do get a bit of chatter when releasing the clutch pedal. With only 2800 mi on the ticker, I hate to see all this stuff unbolted.....ya know...there are mechanics and then there are Mechanics. Should I take the time to do this ? Ultimate question. IS October 2008 I had the clutch and transmission replaced before the TSB came out at Bo Beuckmans in Ellisville MO, they were very friendly and helpfull. I had the TSB completed (newer style clutch/flywheel replacement) at Sunset Ford in Waterloo IL and they did a very good job. They also have a bigger place in St. Louis that is also supposed to have some great mechanics. I think the decision some people made to go aftermarket (Spec 5) may have been a better long term solution? Edit: seeing how some people have had bad luck and other good luck, it's a bit of a gamble either way.

Heard good things about Bo Beuckman. They have done other fellow shelby owners TSB around here as well. Guess the above posted Dominos Pizza analogy got to me. atacamadan
Very good point, especially the one about the one about the z06 (if there were two more seats and fewer bow ties it might be a tough decision). Fortunately I am getting a little bit of a hookup on this ride. They are going to throw in a 5 yr/75k mile bumper to bumper warranty on top of the 6 yr / 100,000 mile warranty that comes with the car being CPO. With this in mind, I'm sure any "normal use" issues would be no biggie @son of gt, thanks, will keep all you guys posted. If I remember right, the pre 2009 models needed the tranny output shaft changed due to spline size or something. There is lots of info and Grabber put all this on the Forum. If you can get the whole TSB done now I think do it. No cost to you, likely a complication later and you don't want that on a road trip somewhere. Check the Forum one night when you have hours free.... Regards, Dan
Jake Auerbach
Well I picked her up this morning and boy am I blown away! I have driven some nice cars in my day, but this is downright impressive for the price point. Very first thing I noticed was how far improved the suspension is over the GT. I am sure I will want more of it in a few months or so but this is the first car I've had bone stock and said, "I'm ok with this." What a blast, will keep you guys posted on anything I do. I hope to do a 2.6 pulley, intake, dyno tune, axle back when I have a chance.

skiph
Keys are the skills of the people doing it, are you experiencing symptoms yet, if the symptoms are slight and the transmission is not effected, the TSB for the clutch and Flywheel does seem, IMHO, lower risk. Supposedly (hopefully) if the clutch and flywheel are replaced before there is ANY effect on the transmission, that should nip it in the bud. That is my hope anyway, as I just had parts ordered for a clutch & flywheel only TSB as the transmission has theoretically not been effected. moburto07GT500
Well just found out my new dealership (Alexander Ford in Franklin, TN) will be doing the TSB on my 2007 GT500. I bought the car back in December with 40,000ish miles on it, there were only some of the smaller symptoms associated with the clutch/flywheel. After having no luck with Town and Country Ford in Madison, TN on getting the issues taken care of i went to another dealership in my area. Town and Country Ford also botched a simple brake job, and after i confronted them with the damaged parts they refused to do anything about the brakes as well as refusing to do business with me any longer. (There is a lot more to the story just don't feel like going into all of it.) Anyways, as of this time they (Alexander Ford) do not believe there are any problems with the transmission and it should just be a simple clutch and flywheel replacement. My fingers are crossed that the transmission is ok and hopefully i will get my car back and be able to finally enjoy it, weather permitting.
