SGT-C0056
I noticed when I purchased the car that there is a wire/seal that goes from the tower strut area and attached to the valve covers (heads). Is this because it was arental and they didn't want anyone to mess with the engine like in the 60's? Does anyone have this? I will take a pic

JeffJ
Yes, you are correct. Yes, all Hertz cars should have the wire and seal. It was more of a funny gimmick rather than a real seal of the engine. Since it's not through a bolt head on the valve cover, you could really just remove the valve cover and still get the engine out without breaking the seal. Kind of defeats the purpose, but still a special part of the Hertz cars.
QuickSilverShelby
I laughed real good when I saw this wire in my engine compartment. Lets see, guy in his shop wants to remove engine from a GT-H but 10 gauge wire stands in his way. Where in the world can he find the tools to help.....where indeed? It is a very cool detail on the car. No other Shelby EVER made has this feature. NONE. I feel so special now. QSS
