The total cost to SAI for all CF pieces on the KR (splitter, mirror covers, and hood) was only $3800? lurk.gif

I do not know if these figures are accurate or not; however, I do know that in the Automotive Industry, aftermarket margins are high--typically 60-120%....

Didn't one of these threads already get removed? Or am I having an attack of deja vu?

I dunno, I hadn't seen one. :headscratch:

But censoring something readily available online and spreading like wildfire through every other forum doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Did that include prepping for paint, applying primer, paint, clear coat and then stripes?

Remember there are two sides to the story.

I was in the furniture mfg. business for 20+ years. Vendors want to supply larger companies with products, so you ask them to build a prototype. They do, looks good, great quality and great price. You come to a business agreement and assume the product delivered will be like the prototype. Low and behold the vendor discovers that they can't build it for that price. So they start cutting corners and starts delivering crap that you can't use on your product. I don't know if this is the case, but these are some of the experiences I've faced.

Just sayin..........

Yes, I posted this just after midnight this morning...I was surprised to find it completely removed when I later returned today. All I said was it was not a good way to start the year and that I thought there was more to the story....

Really do not understand the reasoning why it was deleted....it is all over the web. It's not a secret. I'm not expecting SAI to comment about it...

Yes, I posted the direct link to the suit document and it was removed by the ORWELLS in a nano second.

Interesting timing by SAI to change back to Shelby American? :headscratch:

I think SAI, or SA, or whoever holds the umbrella in the wind these days will need to make some kind of positioning statement or press release on this. Remember the SAAC fiasco? Lack of a statement on that caused rumors to run wild. Maybe this time around a press release will happen before it's too late.

There's always two sides to every story and SA(I) needs to crisply position theirs asap, imo.

I sure hope Ford isn't dragged into it somehow -- they already paid dearly whenSAI built the KRs on such a tardy schedule that the next model year GT500 ate the KRs margins.

Plasan does superb qulity and lots of hi-tech CF work for many other [big] companies so it wil be interesting to see what Shelby's defense is based on. I noticed in the suit that Plasan has asked for a jury trial.

If there's another side to this story I sure hope the other side steps forward rather promptly.

Kahmann- IMO it is what it is....why a KR hood costs a lot of dough...fame and fortune.

Also companies that make money stay in business, that simple. And when your cars are like art to so many people IMO the price is whatever SAI wants, the KR is a limited item.

As for the lawsuit...I hope alls well in the end.

The question was a sincere one. I'm honestly asking how much a KR hood costs from SAI. Doesn't anyone know?
