Camber adjusters for S197.

Recommended Posts

I do notice some wear on my front two tires and have been told that I can go with camber adjusters instead of caster camber plates since I do not road race my car. Has anyone installed camber adjusters to realign their wheels? Also what is the difference between CC plates compared to camber adjuster kit besides price.

I have found two sets of the camber adjusters one by UPR which are on sale for $40 and the Steeda one for $200. UPR is 6061 and Steeeda is 7075 billet aluminum- is there that much of a difference in these two metals for that price?

I would also look at the Maximum Motorsport CC plates, if you are just looking for CC plates.

Go with CC plates from Shelby Store, mine were $220 delivered after the sale and discount!

Camber adjustability will help your tires wear evenly, Caster improvement will make you happier with the way your car feels.

All this brings up the question...if the plates are required when lowering the vehicle to keep the camber correct, shouldn't this be a warranty issue since the lowering was done by Shelby? They knew it was required when lowering the car, as evidenced by their recent email ads for the plates, but did not install them on our cars. I find this curious.

Has anyone tried this route? Especially due to the fact that these oem tires ain't cheap and my tread is gone at 10,000 mi, 18 months.

Yes I agree they should have included these, they knew it was an issue. But that being said, it is a business and they can sell it all day long and did!

Shelby should, at the very least, provide warranty for the Camber bolts, installation, and re-alignment of the car. This issue should not have ever become an issue, as it should have been done at SAI from the beginning...

SAI uses them on the GT500/427 package

I guess I never looked that hard at my car...I have the same problem. I am looking at the Maximum Motorsport CC plates since that is the option Shelby offers at http://www.shelbystore.com/product-p/mm5cc-1.htm

This may be the first official time I take a wrench to my car....I'm nervous
