calgaryshelby Posted September 11, 2009 Report Share Posted September 11, 2009 My firm recently held a day at the track that involved some of the lawyers in our office and our clients. We had a great lineup of cars, some of those cars being: my '10 GT500, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, 3 911 Turbos, 911, Covette Z06, Corvette base model, Nissan GTR, 2 BMW M3's, Infiniti G35 ... I've never been on the track, but the racing school we hired did a great job teaching us for the morning and then we had open lapping for the afternoon where we could pass on the straightaway. The Shelby seemed to handle well and could really pull away from a lot of the cars in the straightaway. I could get up to about 143mph in the straightaway, which is over a 1/4 mile straightaway. At the end of the day I raced one of our partners who has an '08 911 Turbo with aftermarket exhaust down the straightaway and considering I had a 200 lb passenger, he was barely one car length ahead by the end of the straightaway - he said the Shelby put up just as hard a race as did the F430 when he passed it down the straightaway.
