glhs0075
I have seen some pictures from back in the day with Mr. Shelby standing by a Sante Fe Blue and silver 85/86 Daytona. This car apparently is referred to as the "Daytona 4" and had a TII with all-wheel drive. I find this car to be very interesting, but I have had a hard time finding much data about it. Any information and pictures of this car would make for an interesting thread! Anybody know what became of it?
shelbymotorsports
I know which car you are referring to but I'm not sure if the name is right, could be just can't recall at the moment. Also if I recall it had a 4 valve per cylinder head, 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel disc brakes. Or maybe it was just 4 cylinder motor, 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel discs. The best article on the car was in either Hot Rod or Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. Steve
shelbymotorsports
Best article on the prototype is from the January 1986 issue of Hot Rod magazine. Steve

glhs0075
That "Frontrunners" article is a good one. I have seen it before. In fact, it was reading that article that had got me interested about the car! I am somewhat surprised that there seems to be only a couple of articles on such an interesting car! Thanks for the replies :happy feet:

rare_ram
You're welcome. I love talking to the people over there, they are a different breed. We can complain about parts availability, but they really have a hard time of it.
rare_ram
Talking about the frontrunner people made me have to post again. About a month ago I had posted a pic of the engine that I had just painted for my Caravan project. The following weekend I post a new pic of it fully assembled. One of the people there posted this. I laughed so hard... Errr, do you mind slowing down a bit, we don't opperate at quite that pace. Ill do your scheduling: July - fit head, August - fit ancillaries, Sep - rest, Oct - belts, November - rest, December - nearly Christmas, so rest 2010 January - too fat and lazy post Chistmas to do anything, Feb - stand in garage looking at engine going "ppphhhhhh where did i get to?", March - buy some shiney bits April - change your mind about engine colours. May - choose engine colours June - put project on hold due to stress of choosing engine colours. We could keep up with you then.
