obxman
Hello has there been any owners on this forum that has come across a 2009 Cadillac CTS-V? If so what were the results. I recently encountered one as my friend just purchased one and I was impressed by its performance, however the Shelby did prevail.
Paulie
They are pretty fast, ran across one we just did a little take off I spun and then pulled on him, but it was impressive and looked nice. I have thought about getting one for my wife but she is a crazy driver...lol

obxman
Well to be honest the car greatly surprised me as my friend's 2009 CTS-V was completely stock with very few miles. Versus my car which has 2.65 pulley, tune, cold air and 3.73 gears. When he was in strictly automatic mode it was no competition, however when he used the paddle shifters, I took off in second and jumped about a car length to a car length and half and the cts-v stuck right with me and it wasn't until fourth gear that I started to slowly pull away in the shelby. Maybe my car is simply not putting down the power it should or those cars are just simply very fast for a sedan.
Mustang5
In all honesty, according to the magazine road tests, the 2009 CTS V is a superior car to the 07 - 09' GT 500. I'm a big enough man to admit that.
jgib627
No doubt... My boss is thinking of getting one, he drives an older S4 right now.. the CTS-V has 556hp! And Caddy claims it to be the fastest sedan in the world.. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds, starts at 60k I think... so considering all this id say your stang done pretty darn well..! Secondo
$59,875 - $68,515 per the Cadillac website. In 2 years it may be worth half that but the Shelby will hold its value. Besides, a Cadillac muscle/luxocar will not have the charisma that a Shelby has.
6-Speed
556 HP, but it has to move 4200 (manual) to 4300 (auto) pounds.
zcp789
they are hot. big time. problem is though...they're a Cadillac. there is absolutely zero cool to a Caddy. And it looks like all the other Caddy's. what happened to the days when cool meant something. sticking out meant something. Shelby's stick out. And there is definitely something cool about owning a Shelby. any year Shelby

KomradAndre
I think it depends on how many passengers you want to scare in the car at the same time. In the GT500 you can scare one regular sized passenger. In the CTV you can scare 4 regular sized passengers.

1sweetazzgt500
I have(my wife) an 08 STS-4 with only 302 HP direct injection V6 and she scoots pretty good so I can imagine 556 HP feels pretty good in the smaller CTS Sedan. Not to mention it Heats my Ass and Cools it (literally) Stereo Jams pretty damn Good etc... But hey...........It's NOT a Friggin Shelby.
mach 1 1970
GM does not belong on this forum. They lost jobs, pensions, stock value and just about anything else . The worst management team in history . I lost nothing but other people have lost it ALL.
SGT0128
I have 2007 STS-V, I hate to admit it but will blow the doors of my SGT. I was driving the V last week was absolutely left in the dust by a 2009 CTS-V. That car was fast.
Zan186
In all honesty, according to the magazine road tests, the 2009 CTS V is a superior car to the 07 - 09' GT 500. I'm a big enough man to admit that. Stock I would agree. The Shelby stock is terrible as it threads the needle trying to please too many people. The whole comfortable ride in a muscle car is what costs the GT500 points. My opinion comes from Vipers and Corvette's and the Shelby needs a serious suspension upgrade to fix the errors. I mean wheel hop???? REALLY???? Once you upgrade the suspension their is no comparrison. The Shelby is a much better performance car than a Caddy. Granted it ain't there with the Vipers, Vette's and Porsche's but it can still compete
REVENGE
Funny how most people here are completely ignoring the fact that the CTS V is faster.
Napper
The CTS-V holds value far beyond any american cars (JD POWERS) Now the V isn't cool. Are you crazy? Its classy, its as fast if not faster than the lighter non luxurious SHelby. And with CAFE mpg restriction only a couple of years and no more powerful V8's Made I have Both too......an 11 GT500 and a 10 Cts-v........trust me i get much more respect in the V. Now if your younger...yess the Shelby is cool as all hell. but a triple black V looks like a wraith! No kiddy stripes, and i can't remeber aStang holding any record at Nurinbering? The shelby is awesom..no doubt......but the V is a total package. even young girls know the V is awesome ...not a Hotrod. the GT500 will always hold the stigma of being a stang. Caddilac has a long history of being what successful people drive. And this one has the power to back it up,,,,totally underpriced for what it is.......whereas the mustang GT can easily be made to be a Gt500 My V is not stock.....i put down12 psi and about 600whp......but it all get put down with a suspension and braking sytem that needs no upgrading.....it come standard. In defense of the 11 GT500.......it too is an awesom car. but they compete in 2 different catagories...........love my GT500. but seriously don't dog 3.9 0-60 car that can do everything you ask of it. also see if you can even get a CTS-v for GT500 prices...i laugh at that.. You guys aren't big enough to recognize a world sedan winner. However i am nuetral...since im 46.....i could go with either and have a mega smile on my face. Napper
Think Supermodle.......not the top ones of course And think Porn Stars.. this is the best analogy i can come up with. Please fellow GT500 owners......realize at least one point......how many years have they made GT500's......and with CAFE laws how many years the CTS-V will be made... Shelby had his name on the Dodge Shelby Charger ..circa 1983......yeah they are real collectables.. Collectables are : how many what content( components stock) who do they appeal too. did they break any records? utility- the more the better...but this is contraversial This V your dogging......trumps the M3 and M5 Know as the benchmark of cars.....and its faster and tracks better. for thosewho think i'm trolling ....i'm not. My Shelby will have at least 650rwhp and even more suspesional tweaks as well as select braking improments. ultimately it will beat my 10 V. Because of the tremendous aftermarket.. Remeber most V owner were hot rodders.....wanting a fast, luxirious, class winner.......with Zero mods. and a warrantee.
