I know that they were only built in 1978 & 1979 and that the Shelby Dakota was only 1989, so which one might be more fun, a head turner and more valuable in the future? If you decide to add an LRE to your stable I would go with the 1978 model. 1978 LRE has the more classic round headlamps and more importantly no catalytic converters. The 1979 LRE has cats and the less handsome rectangle headlights. Just my opinion.
