SAE Paper On GT Powertrain

Recommended Posts

This is a really cool article on the GT poertrain development.

I am wondering a few things....

Oil Squirters. The GT's have them and I don't think our GT500's have them? It seems odd to me that they needed them in the GT and not the GT500. The parts of concern I think are the same or similar. Any thoughts?

Fuel Injectors. Why would Ford have used two per cylinder in the GT and only one in the GT500?

The GT powertrain paper you sited in this post is one of 17 white papers that are compiled for the original GT40 and the modern GT in this book:

Very interesting reading.

It looks like I now know what I am asking for Christmas! That looks really cool.

I was a student member in SAE back in my school days, and Chevy brought the 1990 ZR-1 to our chapter before public introduction. That was an awesome time, and then also got to go and get a tour of the Milford proving grounds. Those were fun times. I really enjoy this technical stuff!
