Hood Lift kit on KR

seen it done

 

but sai and everyone else Ive talked to do not advise it!!!

 

you have a nice metal ring to rest your prop rod against so to not scratch your hood

 

Id be happy with that, I would not want to risk bowing or damaging a $7k hood

I used a round piece of clear bra material where the prop rod contacts the hood.

The bowing is what keeps me from doing it. Those lifts have too much pressure in them to be pushing on the carbon fiber hood.

I made some calls and think you are correct

 

I talked to CPC they said they done a few but they did drop the pressure in the strut from 70lbs to 60lbs and have no issue.(70lbs is what is used on the GT500 kits)

That should say "...have no issue YET". Let's see what they look like in a couple of years. That's just one mod I'd never do.
