Shelby101
All quiet, loud or any in between vehicles are welcome to stop and show off your exhaust sounds. PM me and I will give my address. Then even I am not home, I would encourage you to come by. :happy feet: :happy feet: So far everyone who has come by has rev'ed their engine except last night at 11PM when they blew their horn. They said their engine was to quiet!!!
Shelby101
Had a colleague suggest I phone her at 5AM to see if it would be ok to start the car at 7AM This also seems like a good idea
Doug_GT350
Why not have AAA show up at 6:30 and pull it down the street, she may like the sound of the back up alarm rather than the finely tuned exhaust.
andrewnagle1964
Same as Mr Morris Country living on 15 acres in the mountains of Western North Carolina, no neighbors and peaceful bliss. Barking Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Skeet shooting and fire breathing Shelby are all music to our ears !!!! Take Care Andrew
sportscars
I'd start the car and wait in the garage in a g-string for her to march back in, then accuse her of being a peeping-tom. Threaten to call the cops on her. Throw out the whole registered sex-offender threat. Make sure you video tape the whole thing. That would be hilarious! SGT/SC2873
never had a problem like this before and have lived in many different locations over the years. Of course, my wife will say most of our neighbors are scared of me. Don't know why she would say that................

cobrakalas427
Bill - I'll bring my '97 HD Softail Custom with DRAG PIPES over this Saturday morning...How about I get there around 4:30am or so??? Damn Naperville snobs!!! I'll crack the throttle a few times and rattle her windows out of the frames! If that doesn't work, I'll partially disconnect one of the plug wires and misfire that V-twin for a few minutes...HA!!!
sportscars
You could always try this with an old car: My high school shop teacher told me how he used to drive down the main drag at night and kill his ignition but leave the car in gear. It loads the exhaust up with fuel, then fire it up a HUGE backfire. He claimed to have broken windows by doing it.
Canadian Bear
Beat her by using the rules! Find out your noise bylaws in your neighborhood. Then have the car tested. Most areas are anything from 94-102 decibals. I am sure on startup the car is less than that. Post the Bylaw on the outside of your garage as well as how loud your car is on startup. Then next time she comes bitchin tell her your not breakin the law she is by tresspassing then just call the cops I am sure she won't come back. I agree first reaction is to go ape shit!! I then probably would have told her husband to keep his wife on a leash or I would beat his ass!!! But if you looked like me the cops would be at your door and you would be in the back of a cruiser before you knew it!! Check out the bylaws can't hurt or like was already posted check to see if she is a renter! Better than regular visits from the cops! Jmo
ShowCar
Do we have to get permission from her for me to come over to detail the car early in the morning now? My Rigid vacuum is pretty loud. Maybe if we push the car out of the garage without starting it. Bill I think theres one of these in every neighborhood across the US.
gtup1
All worthy advise.I have told the few people who stopped at my house and they all rev'd their engines as they were leaving, even the honda accord. So if anyone gets near Naperville, please stop by so I can listen to various exhaust systems :happy feet: :happy feet: I must say that reading all these put a few smiles on my face. GREAT IDEAS I don't have a 500 or a SS, I own a SGT however my second car is a 03 Cobra with an x-pipe and straight through exhaust. At about 2500 rpm's this thing starts to make a shreik like you wouldn't believe. Iv'e been told you can hear it a mile away in IL things are so flat. I live in Yorkville but my office is in Downers Grove, one nice day when I drive it to the office I'd be glad to stop by and give a couple blips of the throttle. :happy feet:
