I REALIZED THAT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE COMBINE WEIGHTS OF THE CAR AND TRAILER IN REAGRDS TO YOUR VEHICLES TOWING CAPACITY ; ESPECIALY WHEN YOU ARE AT THE UPPER LIMITS OF YOUR TOW VEHICLES CAPACITY. THAT BEING SAID, I HAD MY SHELBY GT/SC WEIGHED AND MUCH TO MY AMAZEMENT THE CAR ONLY WEIGHED IN AT 3,420 LBS. A FAR CRY FROM THE GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT OF 4480 LBS AS POSTED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR JAM. THAT WEIGHT INCLUDES A SHAKER 1,000 SYSTEM , THE WHIPPLE 550 , GT500 WHEELS , BRAKES AND A REAR WING. STLShelby Posted May 16, 2009 Report Share Posted May 16, 2009 I weighed mine right before i retired on our certified truck scale, which is kept calibrated on a regular basis. No huffer, 1000 Shaker system, active anti theft etc. The only thing i ordered was the premium package with IUP. It weighed 3500 even with 3/4 of a tank of gas. StrayShadow Posted June 1, 2009 Report Share Posted June 1, 2009 I also got the the certificate of origin or MSO, when I purchased my SGT. I wrote a check for my car and took the paperwork and got the tag/title work done myself. Thats how I got the certificate/MSO. I also made color copies of it before I sent it to the Hwy Dept.
