s code mach
I just drove my new bought '07 GT500 home today and everything works great but I have a clutch adjustment question. The clutch works perfect ( car has 5,000 miles ) but I fee ZERO free play in the pedal, is this correct?
Grabber
When you let the clutch out.....it should start engagement at about 1-1/4" (+/-) off of the floorboard.
s code mach
Yes I'd say that's about where it's at, but at the top of it's travel there isn't the normal inch or so free play like I'm used to. it doesn't sound or feel like it's riding the throw out but on my classsic cars this would be a bad thing. jcthorne
The car does indeed have a throw out bearing, its just hydraulicly actuated rather than by cable or mechanical linkage like earlier Mustangs.

s code mach
So no free pedal is normal? I called my ford dealer but in the little cow town I live in nobody in their shop has even seen a GT500 let alone worked on one.
m81mclaren
So no free pedal is normal? I called my ford dealer but in the little cow town I live in nobody in their shop has even seen a GT500 let alone worked on one. Does it seem worse after a long drive and is the pedal significantly firmer than it used to be?
s code mach
Can't really say, I just bought it with 4000 miles on it and drove it home about 800 miles. it's pretty firm for a stock clutch, but smooth and positive , it just feels strange not to have a little free pedal. mr ford
I just drove my new bought '07 GT500 home today and everything works great but I have a clutch adjustment question. The clutch works perfect ( car has 5,000 miles ) but I fee ZERO free play in the pedal, is this correct? There is no adjustment............ As long as there is no air in the system (Would give you free play) your good to go.......
