V6/V8 Weight, Camaro vs MustangGT

How does the 2010 V6 Camaro weight 200lbs more than the 2010 V8 Mustang GT???

Camaro chassis started life as a full size sedan chassis for Holden (Commadore) and then Pontiac (G8). Kind of hard to slim down a big car when the underlying chassis is so big. The Mustang DEW-light chassis was derived from the DEW-98 platform which is much smaller/lighter and underpinned the small Lincoln LS sedan, 02+ Thunderbird, and Jaguar S-Class. Starting with a smaller/lighter chassis gives the Mustang a definite weight advantage. Also, keep in mind that the Chevy V6 is a heavy 4 cam motor, while the Ford V8 is a 2 cam motor with smaller/lighter heads.
