Missing Thread

Recommended Posts

It must have gone in the bit bucket :hysterical: ...the one when some unstated sacred-cow is offended, I guess. It would be nice, and even show a modicum of courtesy and professionalism for someone to provide an explanation of what/why it happened. Such childishness...

For that matter then KB should have stood up and defended their product the same way Dustin Whipple did. I was really impressed with his activity and answers. (I was already sold on the product though)

Too bad the thread went away---maybe I can get a $1 refund from SAI for loss of information in my forum that I pay for.

the lack of defense will no doubt sway folks to the Whipple,

so deleting will have a backfire effect IMHO.

And I too admire Dustin for stepping forward and discussing

the topic. That alone is worthy of respect.

All: I know nothing about any thread being pulled.

Is this the thread?

Like Jeff I know nothing about the thread going poof. I looked in the mod area and it's not there so my guess it was deleted.

There is not much more us mods can tell you about it.

YEP Changed my MIND two. I was thinking about the KB but no there is NO Doubt that I am going with the Whipple 550. I did also like the fact that Dustin took the time to post all the facts. I wonder why KB didn't defend themselves, if it was my company I would have been on their bitching up a storm.

Yes it was pulled, and if I am not mistaken only a moderator can delete a thread correct?

Correct. They delete any thread that is not in the favor of SAI vendors. It is standard for any company to protect its vendors.

Off thread: When I wanted to get my SGT SC'd SAI never responded personally. Oh sorry, they did give me a price list! I along with many others have been on a list to get our cars done for over 1.5 years with "only" a price list as a message, maybe an email from Bud a year or so ago. Now I am not sure I even want it done. They can not take the chance that SS and 40th upgrades will take a hike and they lose BIG money if they do. We SGT owners are 100% on the back burner and will only get upgrades when all the other products are done. We SGT owners are considered the step children of the Shelby Company, I hate to say that but it seems very true. About 5672 times true.

Wonder if it would be ok to invite both Whipple and KB to a topic each to talk about why we should buy their S/C.

In a perfect world that would be a really great idea but, operating on the assumption that one Mr. X got his shorts in a knot, what are the odds of a meaningful interactive mine-is-better-than-yours discussion when the largest distributor for one is a site vendor and the other is an SAI prime supplier for the SS (and who knows what other plans)?

It's like asking: would ya'll mind if I were to ask your vendor to put your supplier's acorns in a vise? :hysterical:

Besides, the products/kits speak for themselves.

..but here's what I fail to understand. You can go to most any blog site showing any Ford announcement (product, technology, features ...whatever) and there will be those who love it and those who hate it and some good knock-down drag-out exchanges and much ignorance as well. Even on Ford mediated sites the dialog is left alone as long as there's no malicious/personal attacks (they even tolerate name calling as long as it's not maclicious, vile or pornographic) because big businesses know that you can't *manage* a potential customer and *all* those expressions, opinions and even nonsense have value! They also know you can't get better insight for all the unsecured money to be spent by the Treasury (lol), because it's un-filtered opinion -- *the* most valuable fedback there is!!! Offer some quid-pro-quo or 'reward' in exchange and immediately the answers will be tinged/skewed in some way and the opinions/data become less usable. Yet, somehow, this site or SAI either sees such discussions as offensive -- at least someone, presumeably, does -- and therefore thinks such juvenile censorship is necessary. This reflects ego, not business chops, imo, becaus eit should causing someone to wonder why those opinions exist and should some past decisions be revisited.

Anyhow, it's their site and their business and they don't have to pay attention to anyone's concerns here ...but will invariably pay the penalty in the court of public opinion. There's simply no way to have it both ways -- just ask any Fortune 500 company.

Unfortunately this statement seems true except you forgot to add our 2008 brothers and sister's so another 2000 or so

Has anybody here been assinged a date to S/C their SGT at SAI at any point in the future?

There is a plan to begin calling GT owner's, who have expressed interest in modifications to their cars very soon. We understand the frustration and are working to blend them into our production schedule. I hope this helps mccoy.

We will announce on Team Shelby after we have called everyone on the current list.
