Andrew DeSpirito
Hello, all... Took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to wash the Shelby and the Focus. I bought a spare set of stock rims to mount my Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Seasons so I could change 'em out myself every fall/spring. The owner's manual recommends re-torquing the wheels 500 miles after changing them. Good thing I did - I would say 4/5 of the lugs were at least 1/2-turn loose (using a torque wrench set to 100 ft-lbs)!! Probably not enough to really do any harm, but still! Scary! It's been a few months since I washed any cars - I forgot how much work, how hard, how crappy, and how much fun it is! I wanted to give 'em both a coat of Liquid ICE as well, but sun's setting, I'm tired, and we need to go food shopping. So much for that! Let's hope we've seen the last of snow and ice here in MD. Andrew DeSpirito
Not to nit pick, but straight from the Shelby GT500 Owners Guide Supplement: Yup, that's where I got the 100 lb-ft from.
Rag Top Day
Gotta Love it. Double checked in both and the Ford Shop manual shows 98 lb-ft and the owners manual shows 100 lb-ft. Maybe it depends if it's a right or left handed torque wrench?
