The Obama Presidency - Here Comes Socialism

Recommended Posts

The good news - we won.

That's a shame. But, Carter gave us Reagan, so there is hope.

And given the continued partisan stance of the Republicans - voting unanimously against Obama - we'll just have to vote them out. Come the next Congressional elections - we will have to complete the work we've begun - and give the Democrats the complete controlling majority. It's come to that - it's the only way to straighten out this country.

You mean, destroy the country, and the way of life our forefathers intended, as well as tradition and history - the goal of Liberals.

And here again - we have isolationists and racists looking for secession.

Typical Liberal-speak - throwing out these labels to help themselves look "correct" and "caring". Think about the bumper stickers on their Subarus.

Looks like we'll now have to win that argument once more.

Not possible, in the end result.

You don't like the rights, freedoms and liberties of our country - then leave it. That doesn't mean you get to break it up.

We don't need to break it up; the Liberals are doing just fine by themselves. And why leave it, what would we gain? If Liberal beliefs take hold, we'll be just like wherever we could go!

Ah, that didnt take long, typical liberal response, dont like what someone has to say, they're a racist. Its you who wants to take freedoms away, from stealing from those that work for a living and giving to those who dont, to the basic right to bear arms which, must be eliminated to achieve your goals. After the debacle of the stimulus package, one that that majority of Americans dont support, It wont be Republicans on thier way out

Question for all the "CLOSED MINDED CONSERVATIVES HERE"???????????

Would you want our Country and Society to recover and prosper over the next four years with

Obama and the majority Demecrats????????(Swallow your Pride)?????????

Or would you rather say "I told you so" and have our Country fail miserably over the next four

years and be proud that the Obama Administration failed worse than G. W. Bush?????????

From the posts I have read I think I know what youall would choose??????????

I was watching the race, until I fell asleep. How did the subject of race enter the discussion? Why the allegation of racism?

Because it was the only lame-assed thing he could say. He must think the civil war was about racism; not state's rights, which was the primary issue. I guess he didn't know Lincoln only freed the slaves to keep England from allying with the South.

Lincoln also freed the slaves as a means to coax the South to return to the Union. The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to states "in rebellion". If they had returned to the Union they would have been allowed to keep slaves.

And you correct about states rights, the way the country was orignally set up. A loose "confederation" of states. When the civil war started less than 10% of the South owned slaves. So why did the average poor dirt farmer fight for the South? His rights. He did not fight and die to protect slavery. Many in the South considered the war the Second American Revolution. There were actually many names for the war and the "official" name only came long after the war ended.

But again it would be interesting if a state or series of states broke away again. If they told the United States they wanted to be separate but maintain close working and economic relations, just wanted their freedom. Their would obvioulsy not be slavery or any form of discrimination, just economic freedom and conservative government.

I have already posted this DDT but I will be happy to post again

I hope Obama has a prosperous 8 years, and I say 8 years because if he is successful, he will be re-elected. None of us here that I know of are professional politicians. We have other jobs and of course, we like to enjoy our cars.

Now, Im going to give you the beneifit of the doubt and say that you disagreed with the BUsh policies and that I can respect. I may not agree but I do respect that. Now, some of us disagree with some of the things that are happening now. We have all the right to express that without being labeled racist. I have an issue from the granndma from Kalifornia and my senator from Cerntral WI. My only issue with Obama is he went to the Washington porksters.

Would that include the right to keep and bear arms? Would that include the right to keep your wages without paying excessive taxes for socialism? Would that include the right to freedom of speech as is endangered in the fairness doctrine?

As the sign said: I will keep my religion, my money and my guns. You can keep the change.

I am a Conservative thinker, but not a Republican, more independent and a constitutionalist. I would prefer this administration be successful instead of a failure for the sake of this country and it's people. I worry about what my two little grandson's are going to have to live thru in their lifetime's. Unfortunately i don't think there is a snowballs chance in hell of it happening. Hope i am wrong.

The Democratic Party has turned into a Socialist party, which is just watered down Communism. The Republican Party isn't much better, but at this point the lesser of two evils imo. There is plenty of blame to go around on both sides. I will say it again, until you get the lobbyist and big money out of politics nothing is going to change. They are all self serving and worship the almighty dollar first and foremost.

Let's call it passive-aggressive racism and denial. Anyone who continues to explain away what the real reasons were for the Civil War is of that ilk. You may be factually correct on some points, but it's irrelevant. In the end, the war was a rebuke of the South and it's way of life that was built on the backs of slaves. Lincoln himself was a recovering racist - though he changed and answered to a higher calling. He saw what was wrong and was determined to right it. The steps he took were what was available to him. They were a means to an end. Pick apart here and there and you miss the point of the end result. Just read again the Gettysburg Address or the Emancipation Proclamation. Pretty radical stuff for the time.

Firstly, you have it backwards. Liberals are the closed minded group, not the Conservatives. We understand what your actions are doing to harm our country; you don't.

Secondly, like some CNN or New York Times poll, you haven't asked all the questions. Yes, we Conservatives do want to see the country recover from the current economic mess caused in large part by the failed policies of past democrats (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, related government programs), and we are hopeful that the so-called economic stimulus package which has passed the senate due to the majority rule of democrats, plus three RINO's, is in fact a true and efficient stimulus package and not full of democrat / liberal pork barrel spending and increased government programs (both of which, by the way, Obama, during his presidential election campaigns, promised he wouldn't allow (among other things) but so far has not shown intentions of abiding by his promises). We do want Obama to be successful, in the proper way, showing real leadership, protecting our citizens and passing programs and policies which do not tear down society.

Again - Republicans were in control the past 8 years. This economic failure is on your watch. You pushed less regulation and oversight and let-the-market-do-as-it-will to the point of economic collapse. I don't know how bad things needed to get before you realize how wrong you were, but I think things have gotten bad enough. Don't worry - we'll fix it.

We started a $1 trillion war and at the same time offered up tax cuts for the rich - there's good fiscal policy. Yeah - for the military industrial complex. We lost a city. We lost 8 years in development of alternative energy - although Exxon faired pretty well. We lost 8 years in recognizing and doing something about global warming and saving our planet - an entire industry that once developed, could save our country and the world from itself. Here's where we need to take the lead - and profit from it. It's just unfortunate that we've lost 8 years in taking these steps. I hope it's not too late to right this ship.

First you have no right to label people and make accusations of racism, even if latent or denial, without knowing the person. And yes I am factually correct. I know that bothers liberals, especially those in denial. And remember it was Lincoln that was going to expatriate all the slaves after the war to Liberia. Hardly what I would call a recovering racist. I have read the Gettysburg address and visited the site. I have read the Emancipation Proclamation and know the politics and timing that was behind the proclamation. I have a deep understanding of history not just a general knowledge. And Lincoln was a republican.

But this country does not need a democrat or a republican savior. It needs someone that will cut waste, pork, politics and corruption from the budget and our way of life. Regardless of his or her race, life style, religion, etc. It needs a person that tells the truth and practices the truth.

I dont remember the Republicans being in the majority for the last eight years. Hmmm??? So, you are saying mandating loans to people who cant afford them had nothing to do with the economic turndown?

Liberals like labels. They use these simple labels in convincing simple people that they are doing good things, when in fact their actions are destroying life and liberty.
