You pushed less regulation and oversight and let-the-market-do-as-it-will to the point of economic collapse. I don't know how bad things needed to get before you realize how wrong you were, but I think things have gotten bad enough. Don't worry - we'll fix it. We started a $1 trillion war and at the same time offered up tax cuts for the rich - there's good fiscal policy. Yeah - for the military industrial complex. We lost a city. We lost 8 years in development of alternative energy - although Exxon faired pretty well. We lost 8 years in recognizing and doing something about global warming and saving our planet - an entire industry that once developed, could save our country and the world from itself. Here's where we need to take the lead - and profit from it. It's just unfortunate that we've lost 8 years in taking these steps. I hope it's not too late to right this ship. Uh..................excuse me, the dems deregulated mortgage lending in the early 90's, which created mortgage brokers, which created the mortgage meltdown, and congress sat back and did nothing. So when you say the Republicans cause this you a just full of . Second.......................tax cuts for the rich!!! and what are the dems doing right now, bailing out the rich class with the stimulas package, whats that gonna do for the guy making 20-40k a year?? nothing, because they're paying for it. The object is to have people buy cars, all they're doing is making the CEO"s million dollar house payment. Global warming is nothing but dem pycho-babble, move to Wisconsin you'll never have to worry about global warming again. It takes more energy to create gasolhol than it saves. And gasohol has less btu's per gallon and less miles per gallon. However, democrat states like Illinois, with a lot of corn, love gasohol. See Barney Frank. .....things have gotten bad enough. Don't worry - we'll fix it. The Democrats in congress couldn't fix a horserace much less this mess. The "pork" bill should be proof of that. We started a $1 trillion war and at the same time offered up tax cuts for the rich - there's good fiscal policy. EVERY tax bracket got a tax cut under Bush. Every tax bracket was paying less in taxes than under Clinton. We lost 8 years in development of alternative energy - although Exxon faired pretty well. All of the big petrochemical companies have been working on alternative fuels all along. They just havn't been able to come up with anything better than oil. Neither have any of the non-petrochemical companies that have been working on this for years both here and abroad. Exxon faired pretty well but their profits are in line with all other industries. Their profits run around 8%. Do you have a problem when other companies make an 8% profit? We lost 8 years in recognizing and doing something about global warming and saving our planet Cry me a river. There's no credible scientific evidence to support the global warming theory. Dr. Larsen (Gores buddy and the father of "Global Warming") has been caught repeatedly publishing phoney numbers and has been called on it numerous times and has had to ammend his findings. Gore himself stands to make BILLIONS if he can convince people this non issue is real as he owns a carbon credit company. All of the REAL data suggests quite convincingly that warming periods are caused by that big yellow thing in the sky. The sun I think they call it. Gore knows this is just a hoax which is why he recently raised 300 million dollars to "rebrand" Global Warming as "Climate Change". This way no matter what the climate does they can say they were right and tax the crap out of everybody. REAL scientific data shows that the seas are NOT rising and temperatures are NOT going up. Sorry, didn't mean to go off on a tangent there, but these actions are so upsetting to me...Anyway, the first time I heard this "Progressive" term I nearly feel on the floor laughing. The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the constitution states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". Abortion is not a religious issue. It's a "right and wrong" issue. Hopefully you do not require a religion to tell you that abortion is an abhorrent practice. Here's a good question for you. A woman goes into the abortion clinic to have an abortion and somehow the baby is born alive. Should the "doctor" care for the infant or let it die? I'll be interested to see your answer. Chris Guys, I admit, it used to bother me when they called me a racist. But, you have to understand thier definition of a racist. Its anyone that does not agree with them or, anyone they want.
