Get ready - Climate Change i.e. global warming is about to take center stage

Recommended Posts

Obama's appointments to Dept. of Energy, EPA, and Energy Czar have been leaked. In addition to Obama's statements on the subject and recent appearances with Al Gore, these appointments show that he is making climate change a center piece of his administration.

Officials say Obama chooses energy, EPA posts

"WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama intends to round out his environmental and natural resources team with a Nobel Prize-winning physicist and three former Environmental Protection Agency officials from the Clinton administration.

The president-elect has selected Steven Chu for energy secretary, Lisa Jackson for EPA administrator, Carol Browner as his energy "czar" and Nancy Sutley to lead the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Democratic officials said Wednesday.

Still unclear is whom Obama will tap for interior secretary.

Officials close to the transition said support for John Berry, the director of the National Zoo and a former assistant secretary at the Interior Department, was growing. But these officials also said Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva and California Rep. Mike Thompson were still in the running.

The Democratic officials who disclosed the selections spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to reveal names that have not been made public. Obama is expected to make the announcements in the coming weeks.

Six weeks before his Jan. 20 inauguration and little more than a month since his election, Obama has chosen much of his Cabinet and top White House staff. He has only a few key posts left to fill: national intelligence director, the secretaries of housing, labor, education, transportation and agriculture and U.S. trade representative."

Here's a bio on Carol Browner from the Audubon Society website:

Carol Browner Bio

"Carol Browner was elected as the first woman to chair the National Audubon Society in 2003. Prior to joining the Audubon Board of Directors in 2001, Browner was head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) during the Clinton/Gore administration, a cabinet-level position that she held for eight years.

According to Ms. Browner, "climate change is the greatest environmental and public health problem the world has ever faced. When you think about Audubon's core business-bird and wildlife preservation and conservation-climate change will have dramatic consequences…."

Ms. Browner led the June 14, 2007 press conference to release Audubon's Common Birds in Decline report. "These are not rare or exotic birds we're talking about," Browner said. "These are the birds that visit our feeders and congregate at nearby lakes and seashores and yet they are disappearing day by day. Their decline tells us we have serious work to do, from protecting local habitats to addressing the huge threats from global warming."

On October 9, 2007, Ms. Browner testified on behalf of Audubon before the House Fisheries and Wildlife Subcommittee about the effectiveness of the National Wildlife Refuge Improvement Act. "Unfortunately, despite its value and importance, for decades the Refuge System has been under-appreciated, under-funded, and under-prioritized. Its tremendous potential, to be the bedrock of ecosystem protection in the country, and to be a driver of habitat protection in the larger landscape surrounding the refuges, has gone largely unrealized," Browner testified."

So our proposed Energy Czar thinks that climate change is the greatest public health problem that the world has ever faced? Worse than say: the Plague, smallpox, malaria, polio, famine etc.?

I think that most sane people are starting to see the holes in the climate change argument and I have detected a shrillness in the attempts to sell it to the public in the last year. The scientific consensus never existed but now very prominent climatologists are publicly challenging the theory.

Meanwhile the sun is still in a protracted solar cycle minimum, the solar flux is at an all time low, the Bering Straits are frozen, Alaskan Glaciers are advancing, and it is snowing in Houston.

Enjoy your cars while you can my friends; there are those who don't want you to and they are being appointed to important policy making positions in our government.

Global warming is a scam to collect our money. A recent poll found that only about 20% of Americans believe in man made global warming. Al Gore sells cabon credits so of course he says it's real. More and more the UN's junk science, bad or manipulated data and poorly constructed theories are being debunked by the scientific community. Here's a great article. Look at the qualifications of the people who say global warming is basically nonsense.
