SGT/SC2873
Well, first let me wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving next week. If you're like me it has been so busy that the holiday has litterally snuck up on me. Even in the worst of times, we still have so much to be thankful for. Also, I have been told that I will have to cook the turkey next week and I think I finally found a recipe that will work for me since I don't do a lot of cooking. You may find it helpful as well.... Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing -- imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not dried out. Give this a try. 8 - 15 lb. turkey 1 cup melted butter 1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good.) 1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT) Salt/pepper to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn. Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven. Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey's butt blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room, it's done. And, you thought I didn't cook... Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.....Craig

ejrail
My wife for Wal-Mart (insert jokes here) so she has to work every Thanksgiving. I have cooked the last 6 years and again this year. I think I'm getting it down Just go with the oven bag and the tender timer. My receipe is similar except it includes a 12 pack of my favorIte beer. Maybe this year I'll try putting some in the stuffing instead of the cook, Nah, that would be waste of good beer.:beerchug: Happy Thanksgiving to all Erik 07SGT2940

SGT/SC2873
What kind of popcorn should I use? Rufdraft, I like to use Orville Redenbacher. Anything of lesser quality tends to leave a horrible after taste in the bird....
