Why do you refer to it as "forcing women to give birth"? Outlawing abortion does not "force women to give birth". It would, however, as it did before roe v. wade, make them and the men become more responsible for their actions, think twice or more before engaging in recreational sex, increase respect and dignity for women, bring back increased morals that were lost as a result of roe v. wade.

 

The "suffering" you mentioned would be entirely preventable by the women, all they have to do is refuse the sex - wow, what a novel concept! And just think, less recreational sex, less need for abortions and less sexually transmitted diseases and increased respect for women.

 

Now, of course, in the case of rape the woman do not have a choice in refusing sex, however out of the over 1 million abortions per year in the US alone, only 0.5% are allegedly a result rape. The worst examples are of course the partial-birth abortion where the babies are born alive but then killed by stabbing them in the head. Obama, as you know, fully supports this action, which in my view is unquestionably disgusting and is, along with his overall abortion stance, is my personal no. 1 reason for voting against him.

 

To be against abortion is hardly an "extremist" view. On the contrary, roe v. wade is the extremist law which we are living under and this country should return to the moral high ground, do what's right and abolish this law and stop the murders. Roe v. Wade has done terrible harm to women and morals in our society. Even more extremist is the above mentioned support of partial-birth abortion, and I imagine that next in line for democrat / liberal support will be legalized assisted suicide.

I dont think McCain or Palin have done that and thats the whole problem. Sarah Palin talked about her daughter making the "right choice". Well in Sarahs perfect world there would be no choice, even if her daughter have become pregant through a violent crime.

I understand where you are coming from.The government should not be allowed to force views on the people,The people should be able to make decisions for themselves.

As bad as this may sound a life is a life and if it was meant to be regardless of how terrible the means may have been.I must admit when it comes to matters of this type I refer to the hand book given to us known in my religion as the Bible.I will not force my views on others.I will not change them up to make crappy circumstances more convenient.I do TRY to live my life in some sort of moral fashion but am not a member of the morality police as I am nowhere near a perfect person.Not even close.

In the end it will be YOU and your maker if you believe as I do and that will have no chance for deviation from the rules.

I also cannot honestly say that my integrity has not been tested in a situation other than the early coming of my 15 year old son out of wedlock.

I don't tolerate the idea that one race is entitled to hate another race by virture of the color of their skin, and that includes blacks. I don't buy for one second that Obama sat in a church for 20 years and didn't hear his preacher preach hate. I don't buy for one second that Farrakhan supports Obama because Obama thinks differently than he does. I don't buy into Obama saying he's fighting for the little guy when I hear him repeatedly ridicule "Joe the plumber" for asking him a valid question. I don't buy into the idea of cutting my taxes AFTER the Bush tax cuts expire, and then having the $250,000 income target shrink. I don't buy into Obama's explanation that he and Ayers just sat on a board together, and that he hardly knew the guy.

Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are fundamentally built on the principle that you have the right to do anything, until you infringe upon the rights of others. You have the freedom of religion, for instance, and may practice it in any way you wish. But there is nothing that says you can push your beliefs or legislate your 'values' onto anyone else. You may choose for yourself that abortion is not your choice, but you don't get to choose for the general population. To outlaw abortion is to do just that - push your values on someone else's body. You take away their right to choose. As stated above - you don't have the right to take away someone else's right. I don't believe Roe v. Wade will be overturned ever on this principle alone. Though I'm not willing to take a chance. We just came as close to an American theocracy as we ever should. There's a reason why we have a separation of church and state. That's not to protect the church from the state, but rather protect the state from the church. Bad things happen when the church has power. i.e. the Inquisition; the Dark Ages; Galileo was considered a heretic.

 

Feel free to have your beliefs and values. Don't try to legislate them for the rest of us.
