07shelbygt109
I have been working on and off on a 67 F-100 for the last couple of years and thought I would post some pics. I know it's not a Shelby or even a Mustang but it does have Cobra Jet power so I thought you all might be interested. Especially Adam with his love of all things Tasca. It originally had a 6 cylinder in it that someone had replaced with a 390. I never could get the 390 tuned right so I decided to go with the 460 Cobra Jet. It finally came to life today and all I can say is "Wow!" It sounds absolutely wicked. Hopefully I will find out next week if the power backs up the sound. Oh, before you all start commenting on the size of my shop, it's not mine anymore. I sold it to a fabrication company and had to move in to one about a third of the size. Yeah, traction will be a serious issue. I plan on relocating the fuel tank and the battery to the rear of the truck but I don't know of much else I can do. I had thought about lead weights but don't want the excess poundage.

That is a baddie! What tranny are you running? Oh, sand bags work for easy adding of weight to the rear.

It's got a built C-6 in it. I hadn't thought about sand bags. I might have to try them, at least they would be easily removable.

JeffJ
I love it. My first vehicle when I was 14 was a 1970 F-150 w/ 390. I speant many years drag racing that truck. I still have the motor in my garage. Eventually got down into the low 12's. Up front I fabricated in some 90/10 shocks and had really soft springs. I then removed a couple leafs out of the back and had links from the rear, forward to the frame. It hooked like crazy with drag radials on the back. You did see this thread with a fellow TS members brother that about took Denver Pinks with a similar truck didn't you? Denver Pinks
STLShelby
Nice! I had a 69 F100 years ago that my dad had purchased new. Unfortunately it got stolen. I like the old Ford trucks especially 78/79's. I've had four 79 Bronco's. Here's the last one i had about 90% done. Sold it a little over a year ago right before gas started really jumping up.
