"Rufs Garage"

Recommended Posts

Ruf, with what I'm about to do is going to limit me to the back seat, no more folding them down and using the cargo area (nudge nudge). Had a conversation with my father during the race today. It went a little something like this:

"Cliff, these the subs you were looking at? These Kicker's?"

"Yeah, I was. But after my little mishap you said I can't have them anymore."

"I never said that"

To make a long story short (too late), I'm going to start saving my pennies to buy: 1 12" Kicker L5 Solo-Baric sub woofer with ported enclosure. Peak Power Capacity you ask? 1500 watts :yahoo::wub:

That, and I'm going to be getting the windows tinted as well. There's a deal around here, 4 doors for 175 bucks. People are telling me to get 90%, and I'm actually thinking about it

Lol, I don't think he'd like that.

Speaking of horsepower, my father bought a ZX2 Escort to commute to work in, and he found a turbo kit for it... He says he'd get it if he had the cool grand to drop on it. He's still building the motor for my mom's Mountaineer. Nothing wrong with the motor in it now, just the timing chain is really worn out, and supposedly it could use a new motor anyway. Maybe I can snag the old Mountaineer motor, rebuild it, and put it in the Explorer :read:

EDIT: If tomorrow's a good day, I might go out and take some pics of the Explorer, and I might sneak in a few of my Cobra

Eh, it started raining at about 2 P.M. today, so pics are postponed till Friday.

I'm actually thinking about going to two smaller sub woofers instead of one big one. The only amp I found to give me all the power I'll need is a 1800 Watt amp, and it'll cost me around 500 bucks. So if I get two smaller subs that use less power, then I can downsize to the 1000 Watt amp, and that'll only cost me around 200 bucks. Very Nice!

No - no - I meant he's in on the "thing" that MM, SCGT, and I are doing....

I already knew he was in for the other thing.

Bodyshop update!!! :banana piano: :happy feet: :headspin: :banana piano:

Just came back. All that's left is to re-paint the rear spoiler (my guy wasn't satisfied with it) and install the window louvers!!

Front end is all back together - and looking good with the clear marker lenses and no GT emblems. Painted window/door trim is slilck. New striping tomorrow and alignment! And we gonna boogie, baby. :hyper: I borrowed a digital camera and will take some pics asap.

Nope. Next pics will be the finished product!

It's still dusty and such in the shop.

If I have to wait to drive it - you have to wait for pics!

Do you have any idea how hard it was to leave the shop today....grrrrr. :banghead:

1st car show for the new and improved Rufstang a week from Sat! Zaino this weekend!

Hey now, Dan!

I'm trying reaaallll hard to remain calm.

My baby got tore up pretty good - but I realized it gave me an op to take it to the next level.

I think it's gonna come across as meaner - stronger - even more stealth - and sound like nothing but trouble!

The guys at my Ford store will see it when I take it there to be aligned. I can't wait to see their reaction.

The bodyshop gang loves it. Shoot - the paint guy apologized for not getting the left front fender "perfect" the first time!

I wish I could have you with me when I take it for the first ride. It's not as fast as some of these Shelby's - but it makes up for that with how it looks and sounds, Daddy.

I think I just may take Friday off and burn me some 93 octane! Maybe a ride to the beach. :happy feet:

Your car might not be as fast in a straight line Ruf but because it's lighter and your suspension mods it might just run circles around them!!! :ohsnap:

Thanks 90 -

But I'm not into competition except at stoplights - in - a - straight - line for a while!

No more circles... :hysterical2:

However - during our upcoming gathering on the Outer Banks - I don't think the Shelby guys will be losing ol' Ruf in any major way...

As my grandaddy said, it's not the size of the man in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the man.

You dig?

Hell yeah man. I think it will look a lot meaner, and sound it too. All black - all business, ya dig?

My mom just asked where I wanted to go on vacation this year, I was really tempted to say North Carolina
