carnut
Well, Paint Boy, what's the "right stuff" to use? I was just going down to AutoZone and buy what they have. Do you have a brand name in mind? I'm also going to have the bodyshop paint the center of the faux chrome gas cap on the trunk black (where it now says GT). No external Mustang or GT insignias. Maybe some Preludes will think its a V6.... I am sure you were talking to the pesky dog, my suggestion was helpfull :hyper:

There are probably other brands, but VHT is widely carried. .
RUFDRAFT
Thanks, Dan - got my back again! Any plans to visit SVT again? I'm going to list here the changes to the Rufstang during the rebuild: Removal of the GT emblems on the front fenders New 18" rims and tires Painted calipers Silverstar headlights Painted GT emblem on trunk Bassani SS Race Axle backs Clear front end marker lenses More common sense behind the wheel! RUFDRAFT
There seems to be a possible mutiny on this site. (loss of members posting) If anything happens to the site (closing), please email me so we can keep in touch. oesterreichb@ecu.edu I'm not sure why this is taking place - I just don't want to lose contact with y'all. RUFDRAFT
Rob - I didn't say the site was closing - I've just noticed a steep drop off in postings. And - I wanted to be sure I kept in contact with those who post on this thread. I've got a lot of time invested in this site - and have tried to support new members and encourage them to hang around. Edit - Dan - not sure on the number - the last number might have been 13? I dropped them off at the body shop where Rufstang II is being rebuilt. Sounds familiar, I think I said the same think last week. Guess I am not the only one who noticed. But you told me to shut up. Guess I owe you one of these :tease: I guess i will give you a pass for being rude with all that is going on with your car and your wife right now. That must suck, look at the bright side, like someone else said already also, you can build it up better than before.
KobraII
Rustang II, I like the sound of that. Found some Crystaline lenses on eBay for my Explorer. I think they'd look awesome, but they were over 100 bucks for a set, and I'm really tight on money at the moment. Oh well, maybe after June... I want pics of the Rufstang after she's rip-roarin' and ready to go! I need a new wallpaper. This blacked out 300 is getting old...
FordEvangelist
He picked the wrong day to be funny. You think? Wifey is fine. We were only doing about 30 mph. The car is at the body shop. My fault. Just jumped on the go pedal too hard. Perhaps I'll come away from this with more hp?... What trauma just standing there looking at it..... Ruf, sorry to hear about that man... I just now read the thread and realized you wrecked your car. I saw you mention that you might go to 18's. Have you decided yet? I have 18x10/18x9 rims with the BFG tires and I think it looks good like that. Bigger and better when it's done, I'm sure Good luck!
RUFDRAFT
Thanks, Guys - I've got some pics forthcoming when I finish up the roll of film. I've been thinking about rear 1/4 window scoops/louvers for a while and finally decided on what I want to do. I just ordered these from Marcello. Here's the website: http://www.silverhorseracing.com/webstore/...category_id=255 I like the way they're recessed. My bodyshop can paint them black while they do the rest of the work. RUFDRAFT
Easy now, big fella! I've got a half roll of film left! I'll try to use it up tomorrow and post some post-wall pics. I just spent 45 mins talking to Marcello about Mustangs and racing. Very cool guy. Bodyshop owner is down in Daytona for the twin 125's tomorrow. This is becoming all most as much fun as putting the Rufstang together the first time! :happy feet: Rims/tires will ship out tomorrow - Monday EDT. Edit: Thanks, Tony - I'm not crazy about the one's that protrude.

RUFDRAFT
As long as they're painting the front fenders and the window louvers - I'm going to have them paint the trim around the side windows (the thin plastic strip). Just ordered some clear front marker lights! :hyper: Here's the louvers from SilverstarRacing: Edit: Okay - ol' Ruf is out of control. I just pulled the trigger on a CDC ducktail spoiler! What the hell...while it's in the bodyshop - let's git 'er done! While I like the clean look on the trunk, something just didn't look balanced about it. I think this spoiler (which actually looks functional) will be a good "fit."
