mad103
Thanks - I don't think I have any "frame" damage - just front suspension. I'll know more tomorrow. Still not sure about the rims. I'm not a fan of chrome. I think because there are so many bling bling 22's out there that are chrome. And chrome is heavy and expensive. What I'd like is some Cragar S/S's - but I think they're only available in 17". Hey Ruf, Nice choice in wheels, only 17" would be too small on you mustang. But, maybe this is my own personal taste and view, but do the bullitt wheels not resemble them somewhat? I know the bullitts have a lot more spoke to them but similar in style. Guess you could say modern touch vs old school. Here is a link to them, if interested: http://www.americanmuscle.com/bullittwheels.html Or maybe, the TORQ by American Racing: http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/wheels.asp?section=A Hope it helps. RUFDRAFT
Hi Alex - thanks for the links. I like the Bullit's - but they don't have any 18's in brushed or polished - just chrome or black. American Racing rims are sweet - but I did a vehicle search and there aren't many choices for 18's. I love the Cobra rims they make - but they won't fit the Mustang apparently. They look like the original 427 Cobra rims. Ruf -
RUFDRAFT
Hey, Sax Boy! You must have been busy today. Yeah, I'm using up a roll of film on the rebuild. I'll get more shots tomorrow and next week and then start posting. I'm trying to turn something negative into something positive!
RUFDRAFT
I've been real busy since Sunday! Lots of work - and the "event" has kept me off here more than usual. mikspny
Ruf, Not sure what your brakes are but if you ever want to go bigger (14") then keep that in mind while shopping for wheels....have fun with your opportunity!
RUFDRAFT
Snowshoe Boy is begging for more wedgies.... Thanks, mikspny - I would LOVE to have some new Brembos (and could have used them last Sunday!) - but I don't think that's going to happen. I didn't whack the wall that hard! I agree with you on the chrome wheels, too much bling bling. Wouldn't look good on the Rufstang.

I'll be calling them tomorrow. :banana piano: Tire Direct says they don't have any of these in 18" - but we'll see what Restorations says! Feeling good before bed! Thanks, man. Apparently, Halibrand got bought out by some Chinese company - yada yada yada... I called 50Resto and spoke to a Chris. He said they do not have the rims in stock but can order them. It would take about 7 - 10 business days to get them in. I also inquired about the spinner caps as they are not shown on their site. He said they can probably get them but doesn't have a price. RUFDRAFT
Thanks, 90! I think I'm going with the Kazera's - 18's - (8.5 f - 9.5 r) - and BFG KDW2's - 255x45 and 285x40 in the rear. If I was buying long lasting tires, I'd worry about rotatiing them. I do like the rear lip look.
rpenna
Hijack ... Ruf, how much "shake" did your stage 3 cams give the car. Is it a "cool" shake or a "non-wife approved" shake?
RUFDRAFT
Hi man - Subjective stuff! At an idle you can feel the shake - if there's water on the hood - you can see it wiggle. But it's not a pro-stock shake the fenders shake. Regardless - the cams let my baby breathe! (a little too much recently....) They kind of remind me of the '60s. My buddy has a new C6 - too smooth at idle! Ruf - I just ordered the rims/tires. :happy feet: Another week or so....
