Thanks - I don't think I have any "frame" damage - just front suspension. I'll know more tomorrow.

Still not sure about the rims.

I'm not a fan of chrome. I think because there are so many bling bling 22's out there that are chrome. And chrome is heavy and expensive.

What I'd like is some Cragar S/S's - but I think they're only available in 17".

Hey Ruf,

Nice choice in wheels, only 17" would be too small on you mustang. But, maybe this is my own personal taste and view, but do the bullitt wheels not resemble them somewhat? I know the bullitts have a lot more spoke to them but similar in style. Guess you could say modern touch vs old school. Here is a link to them, if interested:

Or maybe, the TORQ by American Racing:

Hope it helps.

Alex

Hi Alex - thanks for the links.

I like the Bullit's - but they don't have any 18's in brushed or polished - just chrome or black.

American Racing rims are sweet - but I did a vehicle search and there aren't many choices for 18's.

I love the Cobra rims they make - but they won't fit the Mustang apparently. They look like the original 427 Cobra rims.

Hey, Sax Boy!

You must have been busy today.

Yeah, I'm using up a roll of film on the rebuild. I'll get more shots tomorrow and next week and then start posting.

I'm trying to turn something negative into something positive!

Snowshoe Boy is begging for more wedgies....

Thanks, mikspny - I would LOVE to have some new Brembos (and could have used them last Sunday!) - but I don't think that's going to happen. I didn't whack the wall that hard!

Don't get the Bullit wheels. Every one and their brother has them. Get some thing different, some thing that will make your car stand out. I agree with you on the chrome wheels, too much bling bling. Wouldn't look good on the Rufstang.

Yes!

You are Da Man!

I love these Cobra replicas!

Especially with the spinner hubs.

I'll be calling them tomorrow. :banana piano:

Tire Direct says they don't have any of these in 18" - but we'll see what Restorations says!

Feeling good before bed!

Thanks, man.

Glad I could help!!! Can't wait to see the Rufstang back on the road again. :happy feet:

Wheel Size: 18x9

Bolt Pattern: 5x4.5

Hopefully they have them for you. :hyper:

I've got to keep myself in neutral!

I want these rims.

I hope they fit and are in stock.

I wanted rims like this for my '03 Mach1 - but didn't have the bread then.

Stay tuned, you hear?

I'll owe you a dinner! :hyper:

Ha Ha, Cool!!!

I also found them at Steeda if 50Resto doesn't have them. The total cost for the 4 wheels and 4 spinner caps is around $1300.00

The spinner caps are $70 a piece!!! :redcard::banghead::ohsnap:

Here's the link to Steeda: Steeda Halibrand Cobra III and Spinner caps

I'm signing off now.

See ya!!!

Steeda says they don't have the rims and don't expect any anytime soon.

I'm waiting for a call back from Late Model Resto.....

Apparently, Halibrand got bought out by some Chinese company - yada yada yada...

I called 50Resto and spoke to a Chris. He said they do not have the rims in stock but can order them. It would take about 7 - 10 business days to get them in. I also inquired about the spinner caps as they are not shown on their site. He said they can probably get them but doesn't have a price.

Yeah - I called and talked to Brian. He said the rims maybe by April - maybe. Sigh.

Plan B - back to the websites!

Thanks for the follow up, though!

(I sold the OEM's a month after I had the car :banghead)

Insurance guy called - $6000 damage.

Thanks, 90!

I think I'm going with the Kazera's - 18's - (8.5 f - 9.5 r) - and BFG KDW2's - 255x45 and 285x40 in the rear.

If I was buying long lasting tires, I'd worry about rotatiing them. I do like the rear lip look.

Hi man -

Subjective stuff! At an idle you can feel the shake - if there's water on the hood - you can see it wiggle.

But it's not a pro-stock shake the fenders shake.

Regardless - the cams let my baby breathe! (a little too much recently....)

They kind of remind me of the '60s.

My buddy has a new C6 - too smooth at idle!

Ruf -

I just ordered the rims/tires. :happy feet:

Another week or so....
