"Rufs Garage"

Recommended Posts

Oh THAT would go over REAL well. :redcard:

It was almost full. I let it fill overnight so she could use it today.

No Elizabeth City - too hot - again. I need to get this pool right.

 if you drain it into your neighbor's basement, that will explain all the water usage  :hysterical2: <just kiddin'>

...it will all be worth it when you get to take a nice dip <in the pool :shades:>

Christine will be able to enjoy some water without having to overheat at the beach ... pool = good.

Ruf will survive the fill-drain-fill. Ruf is good hubby :petting: ;-)

They are not just any chevy, just like mustang is not just any ford.

But we still like hooters don't that count for sumfin.

Good job on the hose ruf I say park the stang under their carport too.

Yes "Bojangles" every month.

Next project red calipers.

Pony (and Stangbanger),

Just to let you know, I have a Chevy also. I try not to discuss it too much in here because some people get upset about it...but I own a '69 Camaro. As you can see under my name, I'm not a "one company" car enthusiast. I admit I've favored GMs over the other two, and I've never owned a Pentastar product even though I like some of them.

I really like my GT500 though. :happy feet: And I will say that even though I've had my Camaro for 25 years or so and the roots run deep, I just can't get excited about the '09 Camaro...just doesn't look right to me...we'll see about the performance aspect when it comes out.

Dave

P.S. I like Hooters too. :hysterical:

Dave that is the one thing we all have in common. We are all car guys or we wouldn't be on this site.

Some of us have different preferences in cars or loayalties to certain manufacturers, but we still all like cars.

We like Hooters too. :happy feet:

He's got The Camaro - the high-revving (D.Z.2?). What a car.

Pool is almost empty. I'll see if I can get the liner straight by myself. Christine's having a real bad day. She's got chills - legs and arms feel very heavy - muscle spasms in her arms and hands. Poor kid is worried. We'll see if neuro-doc is back from Spain tomorrow. Our MD friend has a couple of leads on MS specialists. We're moving forward with that.

Before I drained the pool - she floated around on this float I bought for her that has mesh fabric in the middle and an inflated perimeter - so you're wet while you float. She loved it! I think the pool will help - early in the morning and early evening.

If I can't get it right - I'll ask one of the Vette Boys for a hand.

Gonna wash the Rufstang in an hour or so when it cools a little and the driveway gets some shade.

Man - it's tough not being able to do more for her. Really sucks.

edit: Dave - can you bring a VHS or DVD with a little video of the Camaro?

Ruf, when your done come on up here and do mine will ya? Humidity sucks!

Tell me something I don't know about! I spent about 4 hours on Friday - and 3 hours yesterday outside in the sun jerking around with the pool. I'm used to being out in the heat - construction sites hauling steel and loading/unloading gasoline for 7 years. But it seems to bother me now like it never did before. It's hard to admit you're not 20 or 30 anymore!

If I can get this pool up and running soon - I may see if SB will let me Zaino my car in his a/c garage next weekend! It might cost me lunch at "Bojangles," though. :hysterical2:

Baby girl is still sleeping. Looks like I'm making meatloaf tonight! Ground beef/Turkey blend. Some steamed sweet corn - and mashed taters (with the skins left on - and some fresh garlic in the mix). I love meatloaf. Trucker food! (oh- and of course, a little brown gravy for the loaf and taters) (and a little salad with cherry tomatoes and alfalfa sprouts!) :happy feet:

I told Christine about us having lunch there. I said you guys forced me to go. I told her I tried to change your minds. Then she led me upstairs and I hit it. :hysterical2:

Hey Guys just got back from the movies with my boys. Transformers is really cool if you are a car guy. No vettes unfortunately however, one of the decepticons (bad robots) was a Saleen S281 painted like a black and white, and the good robot was the new Camaro. Also during the previews there was a short clip about a movie titled "I am legend" starts Dec 07. It stars Will Smith and in the clip he is the only man left on earth and he is just SCREAMING through downtown New York city in a red w/ white stripes shelby 500 the sound was awesome in DOLBY. Thought you guys would like to know.

Thanks, PonyKisser -

I don't like cop cars - regardless of who's driving.

Will Smith is cool, though.

Just washed the car and lost 2 1/2 lbs.

Our local NBC weather guy walked past me while I was doing the wash. I said, "Hey, Marvin, how about a little break in the weather over here?" He says, "Not anytime soon." Then he says, "Is that one of those new Challengers!" :hysterical2: I just nodded yes. What a dope. He had one of those Mr. Spock telephones stuck in his ear. Apparently, he can't go for a stroll and not keep in touch with Viper Radar! :hysterical2:

Yes, Kisser - the Rufstang is ready to ride, Daddy!

I never - ever - watch the local news. I get it online.

Weathermen? Get - a - real - job.

Don't badmouth my pool work, tough guy.

I wrestled with the flippin liner for an hour trying to get it right! It ain't some kiddy pool.

My first summer in this house (July 2000), I painted it by myself in 7 days (exterior - then started inside). Including 24 window frames. I had to hang myself by a line tied to my pickup to paint the upstairs dormers!

And - I got my mom on the Medicare Rx prescription drug plan!! :hysterical2:

Whatcha got?

The local truck stop here in Kearney just reopened after being partially torn down and then rebuilt by a new owner. Truck stop food?? a thing of the past. The only thing they have is a friggin Taco Bell, or what you can grab out of a cooler unit :censored: I can't imagine them getting much actual trucker business once the word gets out. And where are we supposed to go at 3 am for hot greasy food after a hard night of drinking and partying??? :banghead:

KCMO - I didn't realize you like going out for a few. I'll have to speed up the next trip to the Sister-in-laws.

Puf - Puf - goes Ruf! Just spent the last hour trying to completely drain the mo-fo. I need to talk to their engineering dept. Puf-puf. It's a very heavy liner (circular) that needs to be perfectly flat before filling (apparently). They suggest kicking out the outer floor while you're standing in it. Dumb. I'll get it completely dry - then try to tug it flat from outside the perimeter. I was using the hand pump as a bilge pump until my back couldn't take anymore! Time for da sofa.

Zaino sounds like a vacation compared to this crap. I just keep picturing her floating around and smiling. Time for an icy cold 40.

Ruf - out.

:hysterical2:

prior to my trip to Maui, I was down to one drink at Christmas, and a single beer whenever I went to Granite City for a burger. After a week in close proximity to all my inlaws, I am now up to, gosh, maybe a zillion a year or so :hysterical: I have loosened up a bit after that, so yeah, we could find a decent place or two and knock some drinks down.

Please give a call the next time you make it. We could probably make it a trio at least with Larry over in Smithville. His 69 vert is gorgeous, and I bet he would love to let us take it for a spin :headspin:

It's a DZ302....only made them for one year...1969. About 20,000 of them in total. It's a dog on the low end...no torque...but wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee when you get up past 4,000 RPM.

I don't have any video of the car, I don't own a camcorder, and the car is in the body shop and "un-runnable" at the moment. I can bring pics...but that's about it.
