I went there for basic training in '78. oh ya, fort sill is still here. It will never close. They have built at least 500 new homes on base in the last couple years, we now have the Chinooks back, an apache unit, and a black hawk unit also. They are builing something new for some other unit now, and have about 45 million in projects going up out there now. BAE systems is now starting to build a new no line of sight weapon for the military just down the road in Elgin. this place is groing bounds. we are expecting 3000-5000 new troops before the end of 2009.
