I now bring you..what about the oil filter

I'm a better safe then sorry kind of guy, so I'm bending over and paid $8/qt for a 16 qts of the 5-50 "B" spec oil from the dealer, and did not see a specific product number anywhere for the oil filter. Enough for a couple of oil changes and a qt in the trunk for if I ever run low.

The dealer "seemed" to know exactly what I needed when I came in for the oil filter, so I trusted them, but only to the point of bying one oil filter. It's a Ford Racing, Performance Parts Filter. Part number - CM-6731-FL820

Sound like the right/best filter to everybody?

And I don't suppose it's available anywhere else but a Dealer. But thoughts on that would be cool as well.

Use the specified Motorcraft filter for the best flow. I have read that it is the best for our cars. I also have a "friend" at the plant that has advised me of this.

I did my 2nd oil change Jan 16th, 2008 after Ford installed my new clutch and tranny.

3600 miles on my car for the 2nd oil change. I did the first oil change at 919. This one should take me untill the end of the Summer of 2008. This was the first time I have used these ramps on the front of the car. I had to use a 2X10 under them so the front splitter would not rub. Other then that, they worked great.

Great shots of your car, ramps and such Grabber.

Yea, looks like I'll use the Motocraft filter in the future, but based on a TON of surfing I did here, the Ford Racing one I got is equal to, or perhaps a little better flow rate (depending on who you believe, and what specs mean to you) so should not HURT anything to use.

But, probably paying for the "Ford Racing" stamp on the filter more then anything else.

The motorcraft filter is fine. I did install the "racing filter" for my 1st oil change. The only noticeable difference was the heft/weight of it. It's definitely heavier than the motorcraft filter. My dealer stocks both.
