Frederic Dumong
Hi everyone... As I wrote I received my SGT 2 weeks ago..... Just want to know what you people think about the idea to make a complete body-cavity sealing. As I didn't found any information if this is made originally by Ford or Shelby I hope that maybe somebody can help me with this. The weather conditions in Luxembourg make me think about that because I want to keep my SGT as long as possible and I want to prevent against rust. Thanks for your help.... 69dejavue
Many SGTs have rust on the rear suspension areas. You may wish to check and start there first. There have been other threads which detail how to mask off the area, prime and paint with anti-rust paint or paint over rust (POR) paints. Good Luck
mciarochi
Hi - I grew up in Alaska, and back in the day many body shops and dealerships would undercoat cars to inhibit corrosion. I'd guess they still provide the service. The stuff is really messy (as in thick), you may not want to do it to an SGT. If you can get it up on a lift, you may prefer to do everything up with POR-15. They even have a new "metal" colored top coat to keep it looking original.
Sherri Leicht
Put down carpet or rugs in the garage for it to park on. Provides a barrier between it and the moisture from the concrete. And don't drive it in the rain
mywickedshelby
does the epoxy sealant I did the garage floor with provide the same barrier?
TheKurgan
You might want to take some advice from one of the best documentation persons I have seen on this site: http://www.teamshelby.com/forums/index.php...c=11229&hl=

twobjshelbys
"body cavity sealing"? That sounds painful :D The first thing that crossed my mind is that the pain may be in the absence of such seals.
Sherri Leicht
does the epoxy sealant I did the garage floor with provide the same barrier? I wonder that myself. It seems like it would keep moisture from seeping thru but I dunno.

shelbydream1
Saw the name of this thread and had to see what it was---not at all what I expected although much less painful!
Milstang
Like probably many I misread the topic and decided to pass on this initially. Thanks for the link to Grabber project 2384.2 as he seems to always be doing something with his.
