Sun57
Long story short, I need to replace the air filter on my ford racing CAI. I looked at ford racing catalog and they do not sell just the filter, you have to buy the whole kit. Can a K&N air filter work? Will this affect the tuning? Thanks.. ShelbyII
Try contacting Steeda. They make the Ford Racing CAI. http://www.steeda.com/
ingram4868
Take the cone off and get your tape measurer out. The following link has a specification sheet and photo on the available filters and the K&N cross reference number. <<Click Here>>
07SHELBY GT
The measuring is what I did when I bought mine to install on the Bullitt. The factory filter on the car was some kind of fuzzy gray material I didn't like so i whipped out the K@N sizes chart and found an almost exact replacement for it.Is anyone sure that K@N makes the filters in the SHELBY GT?If so,I'm sure you can size it up from the chart,Unless it was a specific size only for the FRPP/Steeda kit............ 07SHELBY GT
I don't know if tis helps but you may want to remove the filter and inspect it for some sort of part# if you haven't already tried. It's worth a shot.I honestly cannot remember if there was a part# on the filter I purchased or not,As I wasn't looking for one.If there is a # post it in whole and I'll see what I can figure out for you. ShelbyII
I don't know what brand of filter the FRPP/Steeda CAI on the Shelby GT uses. It isn't listed on Steeda's site but their Canadian distributor lists a replacement filter. http://www.steeda.ca/_281-STE100_Replaceme...9-04_V6_CAI.asp The Shelby GT Supplement that came with my owners manual lists a Shelby part number for a replacement filter. Air filter replacement SGT350F I prefer a filter that isn't oiled so I replaced mine with an AIMSOIL EA Air Induction Filter. Part number EaAU6075 is a close match for the stock filter and it seems to be working well on my car. http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/eaau.aspx A K&N RF-1041 is the same size as the AIMSOIL filter I used. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RF-1041 The AIMSOIL and K&N filters both have a closed top so they aren't an exact match for the stock filter. Thanks so much for those links and specs. I just have one more question, I'm looking to switch to K&N filter instead, I know you are using Amsoil, did you new filter change the horsepower? I didn't notice any change in performance or driveability and I haven't had the car dyno'd. I would be very surprised if there was a change in horsepower.
