bill0754 Posted August 15, 2006 Report Share Posted August 15, 2006 Well, it finally arrived this morning at Don Reid Ford in Maitland Florida. I went down to pick her up around noon......looked her over and didn't find a single bubble in the stripes. I did see the overlap on the face of the front bumper, but it's nothing really noticable. Driving home was fun.....had 14 miles when I left the dealer. It was funny how it had no boost in valet mode. But right at 20.2 miles, I was accelerating a bit and heard the whine. At the next light, I had a decked out 350Z beside me, so I had to see what she could do. I dumped the clutch and she dug in and took off like a bat out of hell......second gear shift was met with chirp!! The Z was totally blown away!! The wait was horrible, but the end product is definetly worth it!! I paid $42,293 for a loaded coupe thanks to my powerlease. I may not have gotten the first one, but I got a great deal. Here are some photos. I added the mirror covers from Midwest and tail light bezels when I got home. I just added Carrol's signature on the airbag panel. I'm either blind or don't see them in your picture. Thanks! It sure is a blast to drive! The bezels are very descreet, they are one piece cast aluminum and fit around the light and in between. It also looks like your car don't sit as high in the back end as the others to me,...which is a very good thing. Was it lowered or is that just the camera angle?! Either way,looks great! Not lowered....just as she came. It's a little higher in the back, but it looks great. What I didn't realize about the rear, is that the wing is so large that, from inside, all you can see is the windshield of the car behind!! The gauges are cool too...when you turn on the lights, the speedo is red, the aux guages are white, and the tach lights up in blue. The ride is much smoother than my '04, and the pickup seems faster than the terminator....at least from what I can tell. A guy was selling the laser cut pieces, and I asked him if he could do me one in silver. It also came with the piece for the vents, but it was a little too large....so I added it to the door jam. BadTony Posted August 17, 2006 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 no need to misrepresent - you've got the real thing ...however, it would be cool if Shelby would have parts like this available to /for GT500 owners (for a fee of course) When I pick up my Shelby, I was thinking of cruising over to his shop in Vegas and either trying to arrange a meeting with him, or a representative to get signature parts and have their outfit "officialize" (not a real word I know, but I think you get my point) my GT500 and also get it into the Shelby registry. I tell you a friend of mine saw shelby heading toward daytona speedway with two shelbies followed him there. Got to talk to him and signed his car.
