With this oil can design, I can only see future problems. You've disconnect a monitored system by the PCM, you've loss control of your Positive Crankcase flow, you've lessen the protective factor of your piston ring system. And I'm not sure if the Supercharger depends on that oil mist too, but I would have to say yes, because this PCV has a heating element designed to warm up below 40F (hence the wiring going to the valve which is not a measuring point by the computer) to warm up the air/oil mist leading to the SC. With the computer out of the picture, you might have a lean condition from a sensor (HO2) further down the pike.

AB,

Thanks for the information, it only re-enforces my doubts of "taping" into the PCV vent hose for an OCC. I always had a concern about a back-pressure effect with this set up and decided not to add one to my car.

I think my signature quote says it all:

"I hate the idea of someone with a tiny fraction of the experience of the Ford and SVT engineers providing fuel and spark to my engine."

...by the way, I am also ex-military with the U.S. Army. My time OCONUS spent in Central and South America, beautiful country!

Regards,

Phr

I always said it's a small world and like minds think alike. Pleasure to meet you. My brother-in-law recently retired from the 7th and spent 90% of his time in that area. My overseas CONUS was spent in Korea, Hawaii (tuff assignment), Turkey, Iraq (2003-04 in the GZ), Qatar, Japan, and a little bit of time in Germany. 1st hitch (job) was Aircraft fighters only. 2nd re-tread option (until I hit TOP) was NBCC (54B), started at Fort McClellan. Then once I hit TOP it was all management from there. I use to curse the engineers until I started working with them on the prototype warbirds and learned to respect the science. There is a reason why originally (untouched) muscle cars are the most desired. It's not the car, it's the car's history. My mod days are over. I rather be driving them. Got my good eye on this up coming Challenger.

phr3121,

Great pictures. $15,999 (off by a few dollars). The cost of a car in itself. I would hate to make a mistake on one of these and have to fork out 16K because 500 hp wasn't enough. I might have to consider an extended warranty program when the 3 years are up.
